wow.... dude's panty's are in bunch!
I love skiing superior! it's one of the best runs in the wasatch and its always super fun going up the morning after a big snowfall with everyone. its always a party up there seeing people you haven't seen in awhile and talking to people that are super stoked to ski superior for the first time! and just talking to people that are skiing it for the 100th time. last monday my buddy and I sat up there for a full hour, waiting for a friend, giving up our tracks to others, people telling us "there are no friends on powder days," passing out coffee to people as they finished the hike and sharing good times with new friends! it was awesome!
Grizzly Gulch is awesome too! I love skiing patsy marley, that's another classic, i don't care if it is sidecountry, 2000' of perfect pitch skiing, yes please sign me up!
I don't know about anyone else here, but i've been pulling out fingernails at work this week, just itchin to go skiing again! I can't wait for this weekend! God I love to ski! this cubicle is killing me! Probably start blowing up my friends' phones this afternoon with requests to go ski something on friday. I just can't wait to click in......
skiing is really fun. sorry i blogged about this weekend and posted the names of what i skied. I was really stoked when I found out that we did end up finding and skiing B&H on sunday and then I was even more stoked to ski with one of my favorite people to ski with on monday and down such a classic line! I was really excited when i saw the photo Mark H got of me on said line! I couldn't keep my dick in my pants, i had to pull it out on the interwebz and wave it all around for ya'll to see..... maybe you'd understand this if you had been out this past weekend.
BTW.... SFB isn't it still a little early to be putting plants in the garden IMO. My advice for gardeners in salt lake valley is to greenhouse your plants and transfer them into the ground on may 1st. average last frost in the valley is sometime in late april, shit i bet it snows down here tonight!
now back to me fantasizing about what i'm gonna ski this weekend
yo BRUTAH what were you on that day on supe? we skied it monday too, probably saw you on the way up.
I ski 4FRNT EHP with fritchi freerides.
I was on the summit the past two mondays (april 4th and 11th). April 4th was the day we hung out for awhile, but we showed up a little late for the show. was that you putting in the booter on the 11th? I saw red DPS's and I thought that could be you, if so props!
bunch of vaginas! fucking dawn patrollers getting up early and beating me to my line! what bitch ass closes the road of 280 slide paths when it snows a foot with 80 mile an hour winds! who actually sets the booter up superior with 180 inch base! people that blog better than skin apparently.
this thread is a 180 from last season. i guess thats what happens now that papa trackhead isnt setting the skinner to an '11k east facing slope' for the rest of the wasatch crybabies to follow the next day.
just kidding mostly.
I could give a good fuck less who the coolest skier in the wasatch since the invention of the internet is these days but, think Liam is the best since Sandahl and Lev.
:the_finge
Roast Beef pussy?
don't think i saw ya, but i was there on the 4th, that was my first day out on the DPS'. could be good for another one in the next couple days.
My Observation:
Would have been great skiing today, I'm sure. But I showed up with two left boots, literally.
Lesson learned:
When everyone has the same damn boots, make sure your buddy doesn't go home with two rights, or you'll be left with two lefts, and not touring.
Today was awesome. You should have manned up and made it work TH!
yesterday - 4-14 - was sweet knee deep blower! not much competition for untracked - a bus load of tourists that avoided anything ungroomed!? after 6 hours i gave up and called the mountain the winner - again
observation #1: raccoon eyes are so two thousand and LATE! its all about the headband sunburn in 2011! (or at least that's what the white stripe on my forehead thinks)
observation #2: North aspects above 8000' skied suburb until about 1 o'clock when we exited.
observation #3: it was sunny and warm today, think crusty tomorrow (if it freezes)
observation #4: West facing aspects have a nasty 1-3" breakable and sometimes unbreakable crust. one coulior at the top of mineral fork at this aspect was filled with frozen chunder and ice, and did not make for a pleasant descent.
overall, it was a grandiose day to be out today.
that is all
up high skied way nice this morning, no instabilities, then baldy even at the end of the day was still very good snow.

"Alta will be closed today Monday April 18th due to weather and conditions. We are planning on opening tomorrow Tuesday, conditions permitting." Off Alta's website. Rain/snow right now, thunder and lightning expected later today.
Today April the 18th UDOT plans to conduct avalanche artillery work in Stairs Gulch at 1500.
Really doubtful that anyone is out there, but please stay clear of upper Broads Fork and Stairs Gulch until after 1600.
Thanks.
^^^how'd that go in Stairs, Brad?
Anyone know how heavy that foot or so of new snow was up there today?
... you are a rookie bitch with a cougar puss. please, out of respect for the elders of this community sit back, stfu, listen, learn, smoke crack, think about contributing, think again, listen a little more, ..... then possibly contribute an oz of knowledge.
p.s. newschoolers would love you though; maybe spend your jr hgh school years over there then come here spewing obvious common sense .... just a thought jackass!!
p.s.s. stop cunting up this thread with a billion and 1 posts of honey nut cheerios!!!!
April 19, 2011- 4:30 a.m.
UDOT plans to conduct avalanche control work in Little Cottonwood Canyon this morning (4/19/11) begining at 6:30 am. Stay clear of all highway avalanche paths until after the road has been re-opened. Estimated re-opening time is 8:30 am.
hahaha, not going to come back at you with any "jr high school" bullshit, but i think you'd be very surprised what i'm actually like to meet and ski with in real life, if you'd take the time to get off your high horse and realize i'm probably no different than you when it comes down to it.
pss, there would be no cunting of this thread if og badass mufuckas (you) didn't find it necessary to try and take everyone who posts in this thread down a peg.
Maybe you should start your own Wasatch thread, where we can get together and talk about what skiing might be like tommorow, Mt. Superior, and go pro footy of injuries/reckless skiing at snowbird.
Lay off the gummi bears, bud.
Hey, Brad Davis, does UDOT have an official position on the all important ectreeskier vs. Xover controversy? It just seems like you come in to telling us when and where the bombs will fall, but never stick around to contribute to the truly important topics being discussed here.
Planning on getting out tomorrow morning and digging down to look at faceting around the MLK crust. If any snow nerds want to come, digging partners are always appreciated!
Or switch to Gummy Bacon way more core

In your defense you don't come off as retarded as your posts IRL and it's not like OG Xover is exactly killing it with his signal to noise ratio in this thread:wink: I'd challange him to a High Boy party ski off if I were you:biggrin:
After a hearty bfast of honey nut cherrios headed out for the crack o noon tour top winds howled most of the day, interesting rimecycle trees.
Good turns on N and W facing wolverine shots. 7 pm exit w facing patsy past the drivein creamy goodness and a bit heavy down to the summer road.
Gusty ridgetop winds led to bit of wind jack on tops of chutes.
As for stability pretty good overall, ussual sensitive wind loaded cornices and some cracking of wind loaded pockets.
Hasty hand pits reveled easy to moderate q1 shears mostly failing a inch or so above old bed surface on density change in new snow.
Happy 420 safety 1st and often.
Oh and my nomination for the wasatch telefufkin tGRammy for the best butthurt, I'm out of here tiraid goes to the Bird Hunter.
Strong work:rolleyes2
Ah, I miss the drunk Xover lambastings!
Sounds like fun, but I don't even know what a ectreeskier or an Xover is.
Sorry don't have the time to be relevant here.
Just want to keep you guys away from our artillery.
Carry on, -Brad.
P.S. Chrisopher3k
Wet Slab/ Glide Crack WNW @ 9.5k running past old debis, 3,500', 600' short of the highway.
Went naturally, shooting produced class 2's up high running 1,000'
Surprisingly good skiing this morning. Was worried that the late day sunshine yesterday fucked up south or west faces. Was surprised to find that it did not. New snow was bonded to old surface pretty well (minor sluffing off the top).
Dug down about 240cm in grizzly today. Couldn't even touch the ground with my probe from the bottom of the pit.
