Reading back a bit, looking for confirmation.
Standard core skis can be made to be softer without sacrificing weight? Or for a rounder or more forgiving flex, should I go 50/50?
Or will either move Bring about the same more forgiving flex, just at different weights?

This question might get me laughed out of this thread but here it goes. Has anyone experimented with a 3 degree edge angle on the woodsman?
Backstory: East coast racer who has only been on FIS race skis or beefy front-side skis all my life until the last year. Moved out west, got a woodsman 96 for low tide Tahoe (aka right now), also have a pair of praxis concepts for powder (so the woodsman's won't be used in anything fresh). Absolutely love the Woodsmans, super fun, and respond much better than I expected for a "wide" "twin-tip". I am looking for a little more edge hold when relegated to firm groomers or icy bumps. Currently they are 2 degree and pretty sharp. Is this dumb? Will I ruin them? Should I just become a better skier? Or move back east? Literally the only complaint I have with the ski is looking for a bit more edge hold while railing an icy groomer, otherwise they are perfect.

Not sure you’ll ever get the grip you are looking for with an ON3P. Look at the rocker profile. They are for sure soft snow oriented. If you need an ice carver in the quiver probably look elsewhere.Quote:

182 Woodman 108 vs 184 Billy Goat. Both on the line (ok Woodsman is like -3mm). WD108 has about the same front rocker line (starts at about the same spot from boot center) and splays a bit faster. About the same story in the tail. None of that is news really, just looking at my skis and wishing I was skiing.
