20? y/o fork added to replace rigid fork on my sons bike. Clears 24x2.6 pretty easily. Going to see how it works for him.

Nice color match and all.
Brake bosses and disc tabs, fancy.....
Yeah gotta get the brake bosses off, pretty stuck in there. This was dry fit before cutting steerer. Match was primed for this as it sat on a bike I’ve had from high school that was ridden every few years.

Fresh grips, a new computer and some cable buddies.
Matching computer color to grips is next level.
Very few 11s chains out there but I found a rainbow ybn

getting a fresh xx1 rainbow for the mtb is not looking like it's going to happen any time soon so I might have to try gold on there.
Oh also I got a poc ventral and some of their ridiculous huge sunglasses recently.
Got a box of Octamousse pool noodles headed this direction from Spain. So many conflicted feelings, but figured it was better to just pull the trigger instead of sitting around overthinking everything.
I'm not sure on how well a shimano chain will work with 12s sram either. We have a bunch of 12s kmc gold chains in stock so I'll prob just go with one of those.
Speaking of gold, I ordered some cheapo brake pad pins from Amazon, and this is what showed up:

Bling!
I went to pick up my aging bike from buddy's shop for pads, cables, and housing, when I dropped it off it had 2x10 SLX and when I picked it up 1x11 NX/GX. I am not upset by that.
The “ Risk” part is my favourite

Bought a spare set of brake pads for the Guides, I found an unused spare set for the Shimano XT so i put em on market place but I'm not going to give away one pair of new XT padz

Doesn't even show gold as a color option, but they do appear to have oilslick now!
Thanks!
I can't believe I went this long without upgrading to the 54t ratchet. What a huge difference punching up climbs and techy boulders. It's like riding an e-bike! :D
I have a bunch of those Risk Ti bolts, they are very high quality (even if the brand name is terrible). I like the gold not for the bling, but because they are the easiest to see if you drop one doing a trail side repair.
Thread drift, I am also painting the ends of my little Wolftooth tool bits with some safety orange nail-polish for this same reason this year.
Just ordered a pair of instep pads and ratchet straps for my Sidi Dominators.
As pricey as they are you'd think they'd last more than 16 seasons.
Toys for the travel box (gonna color code them)

New brake day and bumped up to 203 rotors up front (Ignore my absolutely trashed fork and yes I did adjust the hose angle)

New fork day must be a thing if new brake day is. After dragging my daughter through some relatively techy trails this season decided she deserved an upgrade. My first fork was also a Manitou, though hopefully this better than the elastomer one I snapped the (normal facing) crown on.

Picked up a used but not abused Raceface tailgate pad for only 25$ !
Updating my own post here, I have finally finished this COVID-boredom build. Went quite a bit overboard, and also went deep on the Alibaba/carbon knockoff game. I'm not sure I'd advise a fully grown adult to ride this stuff, but for a 40 pound kid I think it is amazing for the value/weight ratio. In fact, most of the stuff seems better built than a bunch of Easton EC90 stuff I paid ridiculous amounts of money for back in the early 00's (and that was at pro-deal prices!). Anyways, attached is the complete build list (new parts in bold), and a couple pictures:

Very happy with the way it turned out, and lost around 6 pounds from stock (!!). It is now just a hair under 15 pounds, which for a 40 pound kid makes a world of difference from stock. Also extended gearing and losing the boat-anchor suspension fork (that she could not even compress at lightest preload settings) make for an actual trail rideable 20" bike. She loves it...

I used one of those rigid carbon Exotic forks on a singlespeed for a couple of years. Mine was the version with carbon legs, but aluminum crown and steerer. It started making creaky noises after quite a bit of use, so I tossed it - totally satisfied with the life I got out of it. It definitely took a little sting out of the hits compared to the stock rigid steel fork on that bike.
I saw those at Sea Otter. They are pretty much weightless. I asked the guys if they would result in mutual destruction if used with Ti bodied pedals like Xpedos. They seemed to think it would be a bad idea. Since the pedals save like 150g and the cleats only save like 40, it seems like the choice is obvious. But...Silca.
Pulled the trigger on an MRP Hazzard with a progressive coil. Pretty stoked to give it a try. All I need now is the bike frame [emoji1787]

New Assegai, Fillmore Valves, and a 220mm rotor. Psyched to take it for a rip.
My 2021 Pike is a badass fork and only has a month of use buuuuuuuut the new Lyrik is calling my name so it's been ordered. I've heard the new damper and air spring are tremendous.
