My Wed night worlds have changed a bit lately, less beer more waterfall stops. 4 mini rippers <10. Lots of trackstands for the dads.

Back to the land of skinniesAttachment 417241
Quickie before dinner, usual loop out my back door was sloppy. Took HT out for a gravel spin w some hill intervals, but still have to add some spice to those rides.

Not sure I understand skinnies.. we don’t have em out East, do you get enjoyment from riding them? Seem super consequential with little added fun.

This one's just a foot off the ground. It's a different challenge but since I started riding in North Van and learned on skinnies a body height above the ground these seem fine.
Each to his own. I jump like a sack of potatoes so, to me, most air, while fun, is challenging. And to me, skinnies are a whackload of fun

Got a couple of laps in before I ripped a spoke and deflated the tire.
Park is totally utterly deserted More staff training than public. Slopestyle is being built,
Lots of work going into blue trails (B Line, Ninja Cougar). Crank it Up, ALine and Heart of Darkness running like butter. Looks like work is being done on mitigating braking bumps

Snowmass’s park is just starting to dry and still has a few downed trees.

Lots of training.

Wed night kid trail ride & more friends for pumptrack laps
Nice night in the woods with a good breeze breaking humidity

Daughter testing out her new suspension fork, definitely helping confidence and control through techy bits.

Neighbor teen and a bunch of riding buddies + kid crew showed up for first large pumptrack party

From a couple weeks ago...
Did a full point to point shuttle on Condor Peak trail above LA. It was destroyed by the Station Fire in 2009 and heavy winter storms that followed, and has been closed every since.
Local bike groups have spent the last couple years restoring it, and it is now open and fully rideable again. 10 miles of awesome backcountry singletrack.
Ride starts off with a few miles down Mendenhall Ridge from Mt Gleason to get to the trail

There were some nice yucca blooms along the way, quite a few flowers as well

After a couple hike a bikes to get up on a ridgeline there were awesome views

If you squint you can just make out the trail contouring across the hill in the middle

Great view of Big Tujunga Reservoir. I love ridge line trails like this that stay up high.

The rebuild effort is crazy impressive considering the terrain. There wasn't much left of the trail before hand
http://www.habventures.com/photos/03...5-16-22/11.jpg
Sections like this were gone and had to be scratched and hacked out of cliff walls. I had ridden up the trail to around this point a year ago and was wondering what it would look like later.

Past the hard part there was still a deceptive amount of trail left. Lots of contouring over and around ridges

Truck said 92* at the end. Fortunately there is a nice stream next to the picnic area I'd parked at. Great ride, it's one I'll be doing again for sure.

Snuck in a ride this afternoon with storms threatening but never coming in.

That went exactly as I planned. [emoji23] Anyone ever felt like a turtle on its back after a fall, trying to get your bike to rest in a safe place?
