It is important to note that on rocker profile CAD renders, that is the shape of the MDF mold, so more of an approximation of the finished ski will look like, but the ski's shaping very much gets smoothed and softened. Going forward, my intent is to do as much actual photography of the finished/production skis as possible, to remove the guess work on this important detail!
With the R110, the design intent is for a super fun/slashy soft snow ski that has enlarged support fore/aft, a more directional feel, and naturally mount -1 to -1.5cm vs the FR110, while retaining much of the modern video game ride the 110 delivers in spades.
As compared to the April development skis, the production R110 has the same radius of reverse camber under foot, but it extends a little further toward the tip and tail. The tail height was increased from 3mm on the april skis to 4mm to balance out the mount point/increased tail support and keep it slashy too. The tips are the same height. The belly of the tip and tail curves are therefore a little more round since they are rising the same height over a shorter distance. If this feels like it is going in the wrong direction from what you want, the R105 ski has a similar sidecut radius, has a profile very similar to the first beta skis, and will ride awesome at -10.5 +/- 1.5cm too.
I can't wait for them to arrive -- which is scheduled to be the last week of september. I expect the R110 to be my main "50-75% of days" ski this year... which is really saying something! So fired up on where it will land. Can't wait to get it into everyone's hands and quite grateful to everyone's excitement for them!

Sounds like the drawing is probably not accurate, which is a bit surprising considering the subtleties of the rocker profile are probably almost the entire reason we buyers chose that ski. I.e. I was pretty sure I didn't want the FR110 even thought it's the same shape, but I knew I wanted the R110 when I saw it.
But maybe if I ever succeed in meeting up with KC to ski, we can do an FR/R swap and see what's up... that would be fun.
I'll chill out and eagerly await their arrival this fall!

Here is an upadated render on the profile. This time in 2d. I really wish they were already on hand to just send a picture, but we are still a few weeks out on that.
The belly of the tip-rise was moved slightly forward and a little more kick was added to the tail. It was important to do both of these changes together to balance the ski out for the intended mount range, as it ensures a really nice drifted turn for a huge variety of stances on the ski, and across all variety of snow types.
The first and second test runs skied awesome in a small-ish mounting window. The production version will have a much bigger sweetspot. The center 3/4 of the ski is effectively the exact same on all the iterations.
Having spent a few weeks on the FR I am so psyched on the R.
Marshall knows ski design. Expecting the R to be a little less reversed and a bit more ginsu. But still playful.
My new travel ski. Do anything. Slay anything.
Mini golf if conditions are good.
PS. The FR was and is insane for a reverse ski. Hard to describe other than it’s an actual ski that can ski unlike some other reverse iterations.

I jumped on the R110 order pretty quick just based on how much fun I had on BC105s last year and how much I liked the pitch of a low reverse ski with a semi-progressive mount. The one lingering question I had was how the fat tails would interact with the low splay. Hearing the feedback that they could get grabby in certain snow conditions makes sense. Looks like the semi twinned solution arrived at will put the tail profile about halfway between the original design and the tails of classic freeride low reverse twins like the sickle. Can’t wait to see how it skis.
Actually… a lot of the updated profile gives sickle vibes.

I couldn’t stomach my FOMO back in January when I ordered it. And after I ordered, the tail lifted for v2 from 3cm to 4cm and I was like- “You know he did that for good reason. Your M102’s too low of a tail is exactly why you want a looser ski with subtle, reverse camber.”Quote:

No big manufacturer is gonna make this ski again. We riders in this thread are way too niche. MO nailed this business model for niche skiers who can read a spec sheet and preorder for next year to ensure production.
Fuck our FOMO. All we do when we fear of missing out is buy last year’s big pharma skis at a discount and a disappointment.
I read the R110 spec sheet and was like— “Don’t miss out on this ski, bro. Remember Kusala? Remember when HALS died? Remember all those other skis you knew you’d miss?” (Actually, I have a HALS, but I only have one.)
This ski I'll have for 20 years. And the only skis giving me FOMO right now are other HL skis. It’s almost comical.
(Okay, there are a few Praxis veneers that I could have in my life, but they also cost a fortune. Which reminds me- no reason to put a receipt in my shipped box, MO. She doesn’t need to see what this translates to with today’s exchange rate. ;-)

The tweak is appealing to me. If you’re a holdout, I’d suggest snatching a remaining pair. Worst case scenario- it’s not your cup of tea. You can turn them over to another skier here who regrets not seizing the opportunity of a limited production run.
Ok fine. FOMO and hype succeeded in parting me from my money. Sorta wish the big boy length was still available, but 187 should be fine for a little guy (5’9” and 160).
