A couple of thoughts:

Absolute black makes an oval that works with e*13 cranks.

The e*13 BB isn't much better than any others - I just swapped one in and it isn't any narrower than the Wheels Mfg that I can tell. I will use the Wheels elsewhere so it was worth a try. That said, any 30mm BB should work.

A difference of 17 grams (89 vs 109) shouldn't be a reason to not do an upgrade IMO. For that matter I'm not sure I'd do an upgrade to save 100g either, but to each his own.

I have a SRAM XO carbon crank and BB that I got from a mag for a good price that I'd pass along if you are interested. You should be able to have more chainring options of you go that route.

Much appreciated. I guess the question is how important it is to have a HG+ ring instead of a narrow wide when running a shimano train (HG+ cassette).

That's where I'm getting limited... the absoluteblack oval for the E13 is only in narrow-wide, not HG+

good info... that would mean 3 rings a year at least lol! I bet that then eats the chain too?

Basically if I am going to use a Shimano cassette and want an oval, I have to use Shimano cranks or be satisfied with a 32 or 34 wolf tooth. And if I don't want a Shimano cassette I'm going have to swap out the freehub body or buy new wheels, yeesh. Bikes!

Garbaruk has E13, Oval, Boost, HG+ Compatible in 26, 28, 30, 32, 34, in Black, Blue, Gold, Green, Orange Rd, Silver, Purple.

OneUp makes an E13 Spider that mounts a ring that is Oval, Boost, HG+ Compatible in 28, 30, 32, 34.

That arrived quickly. I was really happy to carry it off the porch.

The lack of dual flask mounts inside the triangle is a deal breaker for me.

I think it's pretty impressive to have a bike in a week at this stage with a nice build kit, well done!

I went full dark lord on this one… friends own a spec shop.

'Bout what I expected. I'm still getting it dialed in, so I imagine it will fluctuate a little. I'm not really a weight weenie, but I'm sure I could shave a pound or so if I wanted to.

Pretty rad and loving it so far. I think we’ll use it daily for all kinds of stuff. Supposedly 80mi range. The twins will be 3 this summer and towing with our Chariot on a townie isn’t ideal for my wife and is limiting. This gets us “anywhere” versatility and ideally out of the car as much as possible, with road construction delays this spring/summer.

Nice cargo bikes are awesome for getting out with kids. Nothing like riding past a line of cars to park next to the school or park while everyone else is looking for a spot.

I love this. Wanted to get my wife to do this also. For a variety of reasons it didn't make sense - but I always thought that if we lived in town that this would be perfect!

My wife is psyched; it was mostly her thing to make happen, I just needed convincing. But I think it's great in general and will pay itself off eventually. We bike a ton as it is, but this will just expand those possibilities. We'll plan to get studded tires for winter use and might use it in the coming weeks for some touring access.

We'd be on that if we weren't 5 miles from 82 up in the heights. That'll be a great option for where you all are at.
