The only Zwift plans that I'd recommend are the FTP builders. I think they have solid physiology behind them. Others look fairly goofy.
That said, I have nothing against a good third party plan/plugin.

Thursday TGR Meetup, just Dee Hubbs and Full Tucker.
2 hard laps at a set w/kg, a set power for the climbs, and then I bailed after 2 laps. FT spun the legs for a final third lap.
Good to just get on the bike and get moving and earn some XP points.
I’m eying up the Trek Madone once I cross level 20. (I have a spreadsheet)
Sorry no photos tonight.
Gotcha covered...

Good ride, I tried my best to keep the pace we set for lap three... woof.
I had to work today :( plus feel like ass post yesterday’s vaccination.
I’m trying to collect my 14 days in a row badge so gotta put in a slow 10+km tonight at some point
Anyone have any suggestion for a beginner ( level 9) frame?? I dumped some points into wheels but thinking a frame next. Anything I should be looking at?

in my complete Jong opinion
The Cannondale EVO plus the Enve 3.4 is a killer cheap combo for climbing - and those wheels are likely comparable in aero performance to the zwift entry level ones for everyday riding (that's my suspicion - not sure if that's been tested)
From there I would add the Zipp 808 wheels for flat courses (since wheels make a bigger difference than frames)
and then finally get the Aeroroad frame.
this is where I'm at currently - from here is seems like quite a jump in levels/drops to the next ideal upgrades
Damn you are one organized bastard.... that’s impressive. I’ll set my sights on that canyon.

I’m just stoked I have pink socks.
I just picked up the canyon to have something marginally faster on the flats. Hard to beat the dtswiss wheels for, like, any purpose. Still no lightweights, but I've only been up adz 4 times.
Funny thing is I bought some 202s thinking they'd be a better climbing wheel, then looked at the zwiftinsider charts and nope. Just stick with the dtswss.
I magically unlocked a Dogma the other day on one of the TdZ stages. No idea how or why or how good it is in Zwift.
They used to give the Trek Emonda at the top of the Alpe. I don’t think you can get it anymore. Combined with the enve 3.4’s, wicked nice climbing rig. So glad I got one.
The Trek Emonda is awarded when you have the Everest Challenge selected, and you complete the climb to the height of Everest, 8848m. All the way up until the 8848m point your challenge will show your completion percentage towards the 8848m. Once you complete the height of 8848m, (and you receive your Trek Emonda) your progress percentage switches from 100% (height of Everest) to 17% of the total height for the 50,000m Everest Challenge. When the 50,000 meter challenge is complete you will get the Zwift Concept 1 Bike, aka the Tron Bike.
Dee Hubbs is the man! So dialed in.
Are they still awarded now? I heard they stopped doing that. My irl road bike is a 2019 Emonda, love that bike!
I got one a few months back when I finished the Everest challenge so I'd guess they're still available
The Emonda was always awarded (and still is) for the Everest climb, even before the introduction of the Drop Shop. When the drop shop first came into effect, the Emonda was not on the purchase list, and was excluded from the early "speed tests" of all the bikes, because they were only rated the bikes you could buy. This made some confusion on if the Emonda was still available. It's included in most of the recent tests.
The Trek Emonda (with Lightweight Meilensteins) is the 3rd fastest climbing bike, behind the 2nd place Cannondale Evo and 1st place Tarmac Pro. Its even faster (in climbs) than the Tron bike.
Zwift insider has it as a two-way tie between Cannonale Evo and Spesh Tarmac Pro frames for climbing
“ The Tarmac Pro puts in precisely the same climb and flat times as the Cannondale Evo, but the Evo has a lower price and level requirement.”

Welp, I nerded out and got myself some new stuff. Spent some drops and got the DT wheels and a new kit. Am I doing it right yet? :D
Damn, this gear/swag discussion is next level!
I'm not on Zwift yet but looking to get there soon... are there any Denver/Boulder mags looking to sell a smart trainer? Like, this (cold ass) weekend? I've found a few Wahoo Kickr Snap's on CLs but would love to make a deal with a mag.
Love it Dee all the spreadsheets, have enough of that at work! I just occasionally check Zwift insider to see what’s best.
I’m lvl 26 and run the Canyon + DT wheel combo for everything except Jungle or AdZ/Ventoux. Even on an epic KOM the canyon + DT combo is good overall. The fact that it’s on climbing and speed lists is telling enough. Set and forget, until I finish getting the Tron bike

I’m about three posts away from putting zwift gear in the shit that annoys me thread.
But I am amazed and impressed by Dee’s spreadsheets.

TDZ - the Tour de Zwift makeup stages have been scheduled and posted.
Looks like Stage 1-8 will be offered everyday, every two hours. Staring Saturday Feb 13 through Saturday Feb 20th.
Stage 1 starts on the odd hours (1:00, 3:00, 5:00)
Stage 2 starts at :15 on the odd hours (1:15, 3:15, etc)
Stage 3 starts at :30 on the odd hours (1:30, 3:30, etc)
Stage 4 starts at :45 on the odd hours (1:45, 3:45, etc)
Stage 5 starts on the even hour (2:00, 4:00, 6:00)
Stage 6 starts at :15 on the even hour (2:15, 4:15, etc)
Stage 7 starts at :30 on the even hour (2:30, 4:30, etc)
Stage 8 starts at :45 on the even hour (2:15, 4:45, etc)
8 days to catch up on all the stages you missed, or want to re-ride (race).
DH - you’re a machine. But, I can’t understand you unless you’re in spreadsheet format :D
PS - you’re forever the spreadsheet dude. And tell me to fuck off anytime
PSS - interesting how it’s a dichotomy between having an income vs not. I miss having time off and those without income miss having a job. Fuck a duck.
Noobs, pull the socks high! Most important part of Zwift is tall socks!
It could also go in the first world problems thread! I doubt I’ll ever figure it all out but I’m happy with my socks and jersey choices so far.
I’m giving the ftp work out a go. Keep over doing it during free ride, riding faster than my knees can take. Not sure if I’ll complete the plan but hopefully it’ll keep the soreness down and build strength.
I’m going to invent a backcountry skiing version of zwift. You’ll skin up on a Nordictrack machine and then back down on a skiers edge. Investors welcome.
Let the virtual gear debates begin!

Looks awesome!
Zwift is introducing new ‘AI’. Group dynamics are going to be much different. If you enter any of the make up TDZ stages, you will notice that your avatar no longer rides through the guy in front of you. You will now ride around the next guy, it also should keep the constant surging of the pack at the front from just building speed, more realistic. I’m gonna jump in a stage in a bit and check it out. It’s on Zwift Insider if you want a better explanation.
I rode all this way and all I got was these stupid gloves:

I had a dream last night that I got Lightweight Meilenstein, so I figured I’d go up the Alpe du Zwift this morning.
Stupid gloves.
The worst prize!
Just did the RGV route, stage 6. The new ‘AI’ feels great. Still needs some refinement, little jumpy at the start. Got into the front group and it was way more realistic, not so blobby, more like a rotating pace line. There was 12 of us in the front group, the guys in the background caught us and we had a killer group, everyone took pulls. Anyone else jumping into TDZ make up rides, let’s hear your thoughts.
3.5w/kg for 35 minutes, my best effort in 3 months, stoked.

Haha. How many times have you ridden it? I think it took me like 12-14 attempts to finally get the wheels.
Also, I was off zwift cold turkey for 3 weeks because my smart bike shit the bed. I just got back riding yesterday when the warranty replacement got here. All I have to say is ouch. Going right back into TdZ has been tough. I look forward to restarting my workout plan Monday so I can at least suffer w/out getting dropped.

Can't say I noticed a difference in the AI, but I wasn't really looking for it. Will def read up on it.
Now I’m watching Tour le Provance, stage 3, up to Chateau Reynard, half way up the Ventoux. Snowed last night, the Ventoux looks incredible covered in snow. Riding the couch on a kind mix of endorphins and THC gummies, feeling good!
I just have the sock height slider to the max. Triathlete height is either nothing/ankle or compression socks up to the knee.
Having not done any of tdz I decided to do some make up rides today, short version of stage 1, 4, 7 all in a row. It was fun but I felt a little like a sandbagger. 3rd one on jungle loop was hard though, thanks to a zpower guy and some other weirdness. I used the aspero but the other guy was on a mtb and I could tell it was a little faster on the last trip down to the start/finish. Got him in the sprint though and "won" all three.
Are Kevin Harts bike socks too tall, or is Kevin Hart too short?
