4.83 for 91 ethanol free yesterday. It's kinda morally deflating to hypermile a supercharged motor but when you do hundreds of miles a day a few times a week it adds up. I'm up 2-3mpg over what I get when I don't pay attention to it and just drive.

Maybe someone could do a REAL criminal investigation into how it is that every spring several California refineries just happen to be forced to shut down for maintenance/repairs simultaneously, and spring happens to be when California switches to a clean blend that is not readily available to source from out of state, so prices spike. Every. Fucking. Year!
If the car market wasn't such a disaster I'd have gotten something different recently. I also need a large vehicle to transport all of my work stuff so the only decent option is a minivan and those aren't exactly known as being overly efficient.Quote:

along the same lines there was a diesel shop on youtube where buddy broke down the cost and efficacy of various engine mods to improve milage, buddy pointed out your truck is gona get around 15 mpg any money you spend on mods would take many years to pay the mods off and the best way to save money ... slow down
RUG went up over 2$ a liter and has come back down by maybe 8 cents, I don't really sweat the price of fuel, the main thing is having a steady supply
I think the point some of us were making was to not have purchased a low mpg supercharged vehicle in the first place, not reacting to climbing gas prices by making a change.Quote:

Gas was at or below $3 when I got it and it was cheaper than most comparable rigs with the space I need. I'm not really complaining about what it cost me although it would be nice to save $.50\gal and be able to use 87 rather than 93.

Among many other reasons to dislike Harley, they were partly responsible for the collapse of the best electric dirt bike company to date.
