^giddeeup!
it was 32 degrees warmer today then Monday - and we're gaining an hour more of daylight every 10 days (each day is over 6 minutes longer than the previous one)
magic hour lasts a couple hours this time of year

^😃 the fine line!
Can we go back to when it wasn't 44 degrees and raining?

I wouldn't call that poor decision making. Off line by a hair and you go from firm to post holing and over the bars. Log rides are the training ground for fat rides.
At least that looks soft.

Yeah, same here

^^ sketchy
You need these https://www.kruegeroutdoor.com/colle...olding-studded
I have skinny studded Nokian Extremes on my old Bridgestone for total ice. But I'm not sold on them for the fatty around here.
They grab too much mud and leaves with the frequent freeze/thaw we have in the midwest.
Yeah, I have studs on my phat and so far that has been the issue. They pick up so many leaves and I'm not real confident on steep granite climbs. Ideally, I'd have two wheelsets ready to go depending on conditions. When it has been icy and firm, the studs are incredibly fun...and safe.
So the whole rake/blow or not debate should include "or" ride the trails in with fat studs ;) Does wonders for breaking up the leaves.

This guy biked for over 7 days in temps down to -40 to win the Yukon Arctic Ultra. He seemed happy to chat despite being 500m from the finish (maybe because it was a sunny -26C). Props to Bernhard Hasenbalg. Guy derserves to have the word 'hard' in his name.
Anyone ride a Surly Wednesday? Local bike shop just got new models in stock and they look pretty rad!
I got a Wednesday this year. I put an XT drivetrain on it I had laying around, some 45NRTH 4.8's as well as some wider bars. Great geometry and a super fun to ride. It's heavy but I knew that going in and it hasn't held me back. Would buy again for the money.
Sorry for the jong question but I saw this at Costco the other day and thought, shit for $200 why not pick one up to screw around with. Is this thing just terrible? Or will it be ok for banging around on little trails by my house while I'm out with my kids?

It's heavy, but what the hell. It's fine for your intended use.
I have more than that, in just tires, on mine.
