If cat can go out at will she might always go out to poop. She needs an emergency box inside though. Maybe get a covered box.

Drafts may be helping to distribute the scent around the cabin. Do you have a spot with less air flow? If she's an indoor/outdoor cat you don't really need to have one in the house though I always kept one in case one on of my cats got shut in and had to go (better than them finding their own spot!).
I have four kittens who currently don't go outside and unless I've gone totally nose blind I don't think it smells in my house. Litter boxes are located upstairs in the laundry so that may have something to do with it. Like NMC I clean several times a day and replace litter wholesale once a week. I do not use scented litter.
It could be your cat's diet. When I first got the kittens they were really stinky because of what the previous caregiver had been feeding them. After that things were a bit of mess for a while because I initiated a food change but now, after three months, things are much more mellow (for lack of a better word).
Finally, she could have a health issue like parasites.
Why do My Cat’s Stools Smell so Bad?
I use baking soda to cover up the smell when I scoop the box out into the kitchen trash can. I sprinkle a little in the box also, I have used the Arm and hammer litter in the past, rite now am trying this wheat based litter. Probably will go back to A&H when its used up.
This is kinda cool:

Saw the funniest cat moment ever. I go by a friend's house, she's out walking her dog, and her newish rescued cat is looking out the front window. This cat likes to climb the window grids, that aren't exactly well anchored. I turn just in time to see sad cat falling backwards, while holding onto the window grid. The look on the cats face was fucking classic oh fuck. It was like a cartoon, sometimes life hands you a funny moment when you least expect it.
I walked outside to see my cat tossing around a victim and my wife yelling “god damn it who are you killing now?”
Apparently she’s not allowed in the house tonight because she has dead thing on her breath.

She’s in
That's not fair. Can't get mad at a cat for being a cat. My cat used to stay out all night with his buddies hunting. He would meet me at the front door with the bird still flailing and I would tell him what a good boy he was. That used to really set off the ex-wife first thing in the morning. Don't encourage him, she would say. He's just being a cat.

She’s my cat. She kills. A lot. So I don’t have to
We had a cat named Lixo. Means garbage in Portuguese.
Many people don’t know that cats don’t have English. That’s why they don’t listen. But they have Portuguese.
Someone knows what they're getting for Christmas:

That's a monkey.
..... 'cept for the whiskers.
Mythical creature.
Not real.
Probably speaks human language, too.
