Not me, some family does. I’m attending a Labor Day cookout at their house.
I live in a beige Denver suburb with good schools. :)

Got it. Loved sitting on his deck for hours in the late afternoon and enjoying that view. Salida is better though because no I70.

Over/under I70 closures starting tonight through Wednesday: I’m going with 7. 4 long ones with unprepared cars sliding off Vail Pass and coming down from the tunnel. Add a few jackknifed semis in there.
First snow of the season, and tail end of labor day weekend. Dispatch is going to be slammed.
Hopefully helps with the fires/smoke.
Not sure it'll get cold enough to freeze on the road but if it does watch out!
This storm has been so publicized I'm guessing that it'll cause a mass exodus today, and the only people making the trip tomorrow will be the ones who have been living under a rock (or in a camper off the grid) for the last week.
Watch out for boats on the shoulder!
Not i70, but I’m digging the crawl between Tabernash and Fraser - it’s a new feature this year

Thanks Smoova for now blowing it up. Let the front rangers and tourists use a map and figure it for themselves.
Smoova - you’ve triggered a Foggy rant . Stay tuned ....

Just 4x4 over Rollins Pass, through the tundra.
Smooth sailing down to the city.
I70 closed on Friday due to a crash. Wife took her new car over Shrine to get home to Summit from Edwards. So proud, she had a blast.
Thanks brah!

Ha...what do I care how ya'll get home. Once I see your tail lights backing up outside my office window, I know it's time to get some socially distant Sunday afternoon recreation. You are just gonna sit in traffic at the ball fields waiting to turn right anyway.
I survived. And survived the drive home. The googles told me to go left in BV, towards Leadville, and I dutifully complied, after some existential I-70 dread/angst. It worked out ok.
The smoke was insane, the whole drive. Couldn't see the mountains from Taylor Reservoir, couldn't see the mountains from Leadville.

I found it, I finally found it!
Plume Hill, April something of some year.

My pic of the boat (and one of the 2 or 3 stuck semis in the left lane). That day was so fun at Loveland. Deep powder and everyone laughing about the boat.
April 17th, 2015. I keep it on my phone for the laughs.
I drove by that fucking boat.
good job beater
I can testify that green river to vail was a weather shit show. Not much traffic, but insane wind, never ending downpour, standing water, and a couple nice white outs.
Soldier summit was full star wars and greease this morning.
34 degrees and flurries at the Moab turn off is something I haven't seen.
I was dispatching that day. Glad someone was having fun!
I remember our Fire Chief calling the boat trailer out on the radio, and was happy for once to see what he was seeing.
Same guy got squeezed in a crash he was working in a snowstorm years ago, and ended up with a busted pelvis. That’s dedication!
I remember that boat! What a day, what a perfect I70 mess.
