keeping it real up TSV today
I had the original 210 P9’s with MRR’s. I don’t think I’d want to ski Al’s on them now.
A local buddy down there says the vibe is pretty great at this place: https://www.daleeeproductions.com/

^ skied w Jeb today, great getting out. Dude was going 1000 mph!
3 feet wed Thur next week in the fcast wolf creek. Damn.
Skied w a ripping older chicka today who's been here since 1980. Raced the first women's giro d'italia. How cool is that.
6-8 pnw like cake today, fun storm skiing. 10-16 lighter pow tomorrow. Should be FKNA TITS!!
Hope the roads from Denver are a fucking nightmare.
attention all 5.5 M ppl in the front range: high winds tomorrow and Sunday, Taos is closed. Thank you for your understanding. Kind regards.
Ha. Yeah we'll see what happens. I'm on a 12 day streak, don't usually ski Sat. I'll be in the lot @730, see what's up w control. W some wind etc could be delayed easily.
Fortunately most everything now has a small base that's skied in. So less tip toe bs...
The og bodes are killers for chunder. Ppl were getting worked over in heavy chop and low vis all day. Bodies everywhere.
Hollar if on the hill we'll spin some laps. Another midweek storm and continued favorable pattern this hill will be ripping.
Hate skiing Saturdays, going in with positive attitude tomorrow.
12:00 start time the ticket for today

insane for tsv. was going to leave then this chick showed up. ended up skiing a bunch of shit. was good. but crowds. chick fucking rips. skiing tomorrow. fuvk it.
Apparently still nuking up thar. Another zoo on tap for tomorrow. Patrol getting crushed w heavy snow wind etc.
Front range fuck factory today, snow was very nice once you made it up though.
Don’t despair, there are still uncrowded gems out there. I was talking about this with a friend the other day. People are like lemmings, they respond to the hype on ski area conditions reports and social media. The best days are rarely the ones with a foot of fresh and sunshine. It’s the storm days before the “pow day” and the sleeper days with a few inches of new snow that are the best for me. Skiing midweek is key, I rarely experience lift lines midweek even on days with 6+” of new.

^ yep. I will never again ski a weekend like this one. Ever. If no new snow and no storm Sunday for a few hrs is fine.
I should have rested. First run today my legs were so weak from 7 days. I was not skiing well. Out.
This week should be a normal one.
Great mountain but holy shit there sure were a lot of Denver people. And Wisconsin. And South Carolina. And Maine?? Part of the problem, fully acknowledge, but bummed I didn't get to experience the good times.
You'll have a way better couple days tomorrow and Tuesday.
This week should be good. The crowds will be mostly gone, we've got more snow incoming, and there are still good turns to be had if you poke around.
But yeah, this weekend was a dumpster fire. This mountain is not equipped to handle 3500+ skiers/day, especially when a good portion of those skiers don't know the mountain and bring the same expectations and attitudes they would to a Summit County resort.
taos is only 1300 acres. Thats a lot of skiers in a small area when the mountain is not entirely open. Wolf creek was busy Saturday. Alberta had about a 4 chair wait and the boot pack to the ridge was ass to mouth for about an hour. Than it cleared out. I guess all the new AT skis and boots went back to the lodge to eat $12 burgers and talk about how great their line was. Was coming over the pass today so stopped in to ski Alberta peak and enjoy the view. Managed a pretty clean line down about 2:30
yup weekends are for housekeeping, laundry, oil changing and so on. also hitting backcountry stashes. yesterday was the best untracked of the season for quality about 20". the resort was a zoo.
You either win or you learn. I win a lot having winters off, but this past weekend I learned.
120mph wind on kachina, lightening. Yeah calling a rest day today.
Woah.
Cream pow on the hill. Got the hill open reasonably fast. We are in shape now. Skiing is rad. Taos is rad.
