If you're still in need and in/around SF, I've got a torque wrench that I used to use to switch from snows/summers that I no longer need (so long, fun car...). Willing to lend, or permanently exchange for beer. It's about two feet long, so lots of leverage, and can be set up to 140 NM, I think (Audi spec was 92 NM, I think Subaru is in the same range). I've got the extra-deep socket attachment to get down into the rim as well, if that's required.Quote:

I can't even begin to imagine how screwed we are, being 20 feet from the river. But I can't even begin to express how badly the cities of Reno and Sparks hosed PM Gear and 40 other businesses by telling us all not to move that they would relocate us us out of the flood zone like they did for 100 other businesses next door. Then they demolished all the buildings around us that would have at least slowed the flood waters and forgot about us while they did their political bickering. There's a real good chance our end of the building will get undermined by the river and fall in. Anyone in Reno got a forklift I can borrow?

Rose was fairly epic. Snowing like crazy and relatively empty. Tracks would fill in with each lap.

Latest Truckee area warning reduces the doomsday factor a bit, still serious no doubt. Not sure exactly how flood prone Splat is, but the Reno warning only forecasts near flood stage. Let's hope the improving forecast trend continues. Stay safe people.Quote:

part of the problem for splat is that the river can undercut the 15' of parking lot that separates the building from the river. if that happens then it doesn't matter if it reaches flood stage. it does sound like they are counting on the reservoirs containing much of the problem before it reaches reno. todays lower snow levels may have helped with that
I have been watching this and am very concerned. My home is directly on the truckee river (at the River Run). Fortunately I am on the second floor, but structurally it is still an issue if the first floor gets wiped out.Quote:

I am a different situation than Pat. Which forecast should I be looking at for river rising levels between the Lake and Squaw Creek? Unfortunately, I am also at the most narrow stretch of the river at that point (e.g., it is 7 feet wide behind our place and very constricted).Quote:

I just drove that stretch a few hours ago and it's downright pleasant compared to everything further down.
It's basically just upstream of truckee and below that will be an issue..........and vista is always the first issue.
