Doesn't have to be that way. Skied Showdown on Thursday, bailed on Friday because of weather, got over Bozeman pass before it closed for the next 10 hrs. Other alternative was taking to road west to Townsend and that seemed like a worse idea given the conditions.
Showdown was a treat. Some decent terrain, good snow (more than Alta UT ytd), friendly locals, met the owner (Avery) she was a kick in the pants to BS with and near the end of the day saw he headed up to help sweep. Got to the parking lot and discovered both ski boots had broken. DGAF, had a good time skiing a new place with friends.

^^ @trackhead, I dunno, when it's needed as a community of (mostly) like minded members this place performs. Vibes and all that are kinda corny but I think it matters, I remember seeing a bunch of posts supporting you when you needed it. It felt good right? Yeah it's different than it used to be but I find that there's still better discourse here than most places.
