I was hoping to get closer to this herd of buffalo during our snow storm, but the bastards seem to stay away from the road (they're on a fenced-in farm north of Boulder). I managed to get this shot with my 70-300 this morning, it's pretty heavily cropped:

So, question for those of you that post a number of amazing landscapes in this thread... While doing some major cleaning during the quarantine/isolation, I stumbled on my old set of watercolors. I've been playing around with this some, practicing again, tutorials etc. Totally amateur and for myself (not to resell or anything) but would you all be ok with me using some of your photos for inspiration? It doesn't feel right just to take a photo from here without asking first. If something turns out that I really like and feel ok to post/share - I can post/quote the original photo with a photo of the painting too...want to try to paint some of the pups too from the dog thread...
Spanish Pyreness GR11 from last October. The light was super harsh that day and the air was a little hazy. No picture I took is that great, but with some work to balance the light they look okay.

Another bison shot.... I realized that to get the shot I have in mind, I'll need a much longer lens. Maybe the 200-600 is in my future? :)

My backbacking setup the last 3 years have been an old cheap Canon 24 MM 2.8 EF AF prime I bought it off of Ebay for probably more than it was worth. Super light and it pairs so nicely with my old 6D and proof of concept is I have used that one lens more than any other the last three years because it is tiny and it works. Biggest issue is it isn't a great lens by todays standards - Bokeh is meh, AF is hit or miss and colors don't pop, always too cool, and because of that it takes me a long time to process pics - but FKNA I have taken some shots I love with the little beast. So for my birthday I bought myself a Canon refurb 24 mm 2.8 IS USM. Totally different lens but still super light. All the reviews are glowing. Pretty stoked.

It's amazing how many different looking shots you can get out of a great location like that just by varying the time of day or walking 30 ft one way. You absolutely nailed the other one.
