east coast brings it
I believe you. Your experience not mine.

Popular tonight, just cracked this one.

Popped the Pliny. It is a damn good beer. It's really up there on my list.
The hype may have been warranted.
^Always fun when a beer meets or exceeds expectations. Hoppy Birphday. Trillium Congress St. for me. With apologies to those this may offend, but Boston finally has a good brewery. Trillium's hop forward stuff is great, Congress St and Fort Point Pale in particular.
I've been crushing these lately

I've been a die hard "regular" IPA drinker for years.
These are great...tasty as a normal IPA, but you can gas em all day and still stay vertical
^ Nice. For fellow MA mags Notch Left of the Dial is a similar "session-able" IPA at like 4.5%. Love the trend of flavorable hop forward crushable beers. Always stoked when I find something <6% that I really dig. Being one who digs having "a few."
^interesting. Good to know.
Nice! Did a flight when I was there: awesome spot!

Those spiegelau glasses are too damn expensive. Just use a large white wine glass for the same effect.
^
Agreed, I wouldn't have bought them myself but as a bday present, I'll take it...better than a tie any day. The only true benefit I can see over a red/large white wine glass is that the laser etching continues to keep a head throughout.
AD - Definitely not an accurate color reproduction, looks more like pink lemonade.
can, glass, bottle, frosted glass, mug,....I like it all.
I have a TreeHouse IPA glass that was a gift, but if I make a trip to a brewery and they have a nice glass I can see myself starting a collection. Like my ski area shot glass collection. So far I have Mt Snow and Magic.:fmicon: (jk, magic doesn't have shot glasses)
Love a good session IPA. My go too is Rudie by SKA.

Perfect summer crusher.
Just had the Descutes Fresh Squeezed, damn its tasty!
Totally agreee that these are quite good, but flipside to the "staying vertical" part is that you need to drink all 6 to catch a buzz and then you're out $10. Earlier this year my local store had the 15 packs for $12 and it was a no brainer - now that they're $10/6er I stay away.
Agreed. It was probably my favorite IPA this summer. I know little about beer except for what I like, and I like this one a lot.
Other favorite beers over the past couple months:
(1) Mammoth Epic IPA. I didn't have high expectations and may have cynically assumed that a ski-town beer might be trying to capitalize more on image than quality, but I love this beer. It's plenty hoppy without having an excessively tangy finish. Anyhow, I noticed it got only slightly above-average ratings on Beer Advocate, but I think it's fantastic.
(2) [Not an IPA Warning] Sierra Nevada's Double Latte: Coffee Milk Stout (came as part of their Beer Camp package). Again, I had low expectations from a beer that includes milk and sugar, but I thought this beer was delicious as either a beer or a coffee drink. I'd like to find more.
I have a couple of these and use them everyday. They are around $7 each but completely worth it. They give you a much bigger, more concentrated sniff and the shape agitates the beer a bit more as you work your way toward the bottom which squeezes out a bit more flavor. Pint glasses are fine, but these up the experience about 10% imo.
22 oz bottles. Look on Drakes website for availability.
It pains me to admit I'm not much of a fan of the All Day IPA. Too thin and astringent.
Considering that a 6er of Sculpin costs $15 in these parts ... yeah, that's a pretty good deal. Haven't had the Founders All Day but I like most of the stuff I've had from them.
I agree that session IPAs can be hit or miss to a lot of people's unique tastes ... with less of a malt base to create alcohol, more of the basic flavors are going to dominate. I love Stone Go To ... also can drink Altamont Hella Lite, Anderson Valley Wee Geech (impossible to find) and Drake's Alpha Session (even more impossible to find, as the releases are so limited). The others I've had, like Black Diamond and even Lagunitas, aren't so hot in my book.
Founders All Day, tastes like dish-soap.
it's not good beer.
i prefer Miller High Life as a session beverage.
Stone IPA. Goes down way to easy.

nothing special

Good but agreed, not outstanding. Did really like their Yulesmith dipa but haven't seen it here on the EC since early summer.
Buttah - Not sure I'd be that harsh on all day, good summer beer to pound on the boat fishing (as not to fall over and drown after 5 or 6) or tailgating before a show but not horrible imo.
Speaking of shows, 10/22 2nd set playing in the background, very interesting.
