I started my daughter at 20 mos old on the plastic skis that strap on to winter boots. They were 55cm ish long. Go visit the nearest magic carpet and play catch with mom. The next season she was on 67cm real skis with the smallest hard boots they make (mondo 14.5).Quote:

I'm selling a Spyder Mini Pillage One Piece snow suit (super steezy) size 5 (actually fit my avg size six year old son last year). It was worn a handful of times as he liked a two piece suit better, and is in perfect shape. Retail was $199, asking $100 OBO as they're selling on eBay for that price or higher.

Looking for a pair of the smallest hard boots I can find (skis and bindings too) for my 2 1/2 year old.. anybody have anything laying around unused?
I got a 2 year old little guy, and I'd love to get him out in the snow this year. Anyone holding onto some toddler skis that work with a regular snow-boot?
Anyone have twin girls? I have two pairs of Dalbello ski boots. They are 195/205, so I think around a kids US size 1. I'll give em to you for a twelve pack of Sierra Nevada cans if you can pick them up either in Marblehead, MA or in Waitsfield/Warren/Sugarbush/MRG area.
If you want me to ship them, actual shipping plus 20 so I can go get the aforementioned twelvepack.

Once my 8 year olds new skis come in (Volkl Gotama Jr! full rocker wtf!!) I will move some other skis around and have a pair of 90cm Dynastar Speedy (with frogs!). also with bindings. These should be ready to be sold by Christmas if not sooner.
I NEED:
a set of 19/19.5 boots. ~size 13 US youth.
My kid is on lucky bums now, but those boots look nice. I don't have twins, and he is a boy, but I like to confuse people. The strap ins are fine for play around the base, but, I you plan to ride lifts, they are a PITA. You basically need to hold your kid up, because everything is so flexible. My guy can literally kiss the snow with his skis still on te ground and my guy likes the lift, so we are getting the gear in order.
I have 205s, but a 195 would be better. Have 80cm skis, but their bindings are on another buddies 100cm. We do have bindings on some 120s, that will need to be there when buddy steps up.... Tech talk question, any issue with a third, tight mount on my 25# kids skis?
Got the harness/leash and he wears it. But with the strap on skis it is used mostly for picking him up. Anyway, the harness is pure gold. I used it with his two older buddies a lot and yes, it does save your back.
Owen will be wearing the harness again this season. He will be poster-boy for it. After the death of the 7 year old at Sugar Bowl, there is a push in the industry towards awareness and safety for the littles on the chair. Under 51" = too short to sit properly in the chair w/o assistance. He rocks, but he's a tiny guy who still barely weighs 42#.

Where do find/buy a harness like that? My son is starting to ride the lifts and I have been looking for something like that but without much luck.

I can see the appeal of a harness for loading and unloading lifts as well as general picking up and swinging around, but using the leashes while skiing seems to me like a crutch that's only going to teach bad habits which will have to be unlearned later..

I've successfully taught 4 year olds with just a good ole edgie-wedgie but this will be my first experience with a kiddo under 3..
I trust Owen as a test model. Either he is excellent at photo slutting, or he has really good form. I think my god son is not as strong as Owen (purely based on pics), but he is a solid little skier. Both used a harness and leash to start. We did not use the leashes to steer, but only to stop, or slow him. The hard part is skiing so close behind, an not running over them when they trip up. Riding a shorter ski helps.
Ok not sure of the interest, But I'm going to make this as easy as possible. Each complete set / outfit will be $25.00. Shipping will be extra depending on condition and desire for speedy delivery. Awesome, thanks for the lead on the harness. My little guy is already cruising everywhere without a leash but getting on the chairlift is a little cumbersome with just picking him up. I was looking at the vests but they were way to expensive just to add a handle. The Lucky Bums harness is perfect! Thanks again.

cinnepa asked me about chair rides - one thing we used for a while was a webbing runner and carabiner to clip the lad to the chair - no hands safety on the ride up
