BUTTHURT ADVISORY IN EFFECT
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A BUTTHURT ADVISORY MEANS THAT PERIODS OF SNOW AND/OR
BLOWING SNOW WILL ONLY OCCUR ON NOAA.GOV WEBSITE IN FORECAST THEORY. BE PREPARED FOR
DISAPPOINTMENT AND POTENTIAL WIDESPREAD BUTTHURT...AND USE CAUTION WHILE
POSTING ABOUT THE STORM.
maybe march '12 will be as good as nov '10
WOULDN'T THAT BE SOMETHING
looks like NOAA is on board for the vail area...
Wednesday Night: Snow. Low around 5. North wind between 5 and 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of 4 to 8 inches possible.
Thursday: Snow. High near 10. Wind chill values as low as -10. East wind between 10 and 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.
except North winds don't do much due to the Gore and East winds are total shit due to the divide. It'll snow but only a couple of inches is my bet. Then we get another week of sun....sweet.
yeah 4 to 8 seems highly doubtful. while berthoud is only forecasted for 3 to 5 overnight. hm...
I'll believe it when me shit turns purple and smells like rainbow sherbet.
Grass n' rocks everywhere at the Beav. My butthurt knows no bounds.

(EXCEPT THE UINTA BASIN...SORRY VERNAL) AND DRY WEATHER IS THE MAIN
THEME IN THE EXTENDED GRIDS AND FORECASTS.
On the bright side, it just started snowing. At least the first day of winter isn't a complete bust. That said, I'm probably gonna break out the mountain bike this week.
It's snowing lightly, ya crybabies. If it does snow more than expected you can thank me for being too sick with the crud to ski the next day or two at least.
This guy seems a little more optimistic of an overall pattern change...

I'd rather listen to that guy
@BDKEG - well said. This storm will give 3-4" for most areas west of the divide. If we're lucky, 6" would be nice (that's what she said). Biggest totals east of the divide.
@RonMexico - the post by BA on unofficialnetworks is solid. He knows what he's talking about, but he really gets excited by long-range forecasts, which as I've said forever, are tough to use to predict powder days. OR,WA,ID,MT,WY definitely look snowy late this weekend and early next week, but beyond that I don't want to speculate. The GFS and ECMWF (European) are hinting at 1-2 storms that would actually hit Colorado from the west during the middle and end of next week giving good snow to mountains west of the divide, but the timing/location of these storms is all over the place and I have no confidence in the forecast at this point. I'm not looking ahead into January...let's first start with this storm and next week.
Talk about butthurt. My head feels like it's gonna explode from congestion (and it's snowing!). You can all thank me for being sick, guessing it's already getting close to 2 inches of fresh around the lifts.
2".....OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !
ULLR is a HACK
Can I just chose to believe this blindly, and hope it is an Xmas present?
