Little old Catamount was pretty fantastic this morning. I wish I could post a few pics for yous
Arrived to Mt Ellen to yet another maintenance delay. Luckily made it to the Northridge chair which, despite a few chairs coming loose going around the bull wheel, kept running. Found these on most every chair.

All in all it was a surprisingly good day of skiing. Glad to be on a 66 wide ski for the day.

Pond skim at my local PA bump as season looking to wind down quickly. Ended up featured on a few of the Philly news stations for my successful attempt. My 11y/o straightlined it but when you only weigh 60lbs mass through flats doesn't work well and she got pretty soaked. Fun time</p>

*intended for Brownski re Catamount (issues with replies) * - Hope Catapult was open, nobody ever wanted to believe me that its a legit slope, cant really fake your way down that. Great little mountain, and not worth the extra drive to...Butternut, or Jimminy, coming from the south.
I had six rides without any unexpected detaches. Rumor mill description of work since the incident has me feeling okay about another six or so tomorrow (the forecast, on the other hand, may make for interesting race conditions).Attachment 511701
Goddamn I love this place.

I have had similar issues with replies. Catapult was open and skied great. It even had some icy bumps under the lift. The 2 new steep trails Ripper and Christophers Leap were open also. Everything skied nice. I still cannot post pics but I can post links I think

I skied at Jay on Friday, Saturday and today. Conditions were springlike but surprisingly firm and fast. Friday was sunny, breezy and mildly busy. Saturday was sunny, windy, and a gong show of people (not the fault of the resort, GM Steve Wright said it was their second-busiest day this season). The tram was on wind hold till about 2.30, which did not help. It sucks up a lot of tourists, they went to the other lifts. Today was cloudy, more windy and the Bonnie and tram were on wind hold all day. We were surprised at the lack of people there today, my nephew and got 11 runs in before lunch, including a coffee break. Today was FAST snow, we got here early thinking we would be getting first tracks on fresh cord. Nope. First tracks were on a semi frozen solid surface with groomer tracks. Things improved as the day went on and the lack of sun kept the snow in good shape. Lots of snow loss on natural snow trails like the River Quai and Exhibition over the three days but the trails with snowmaking should weather the incoming moisture event. Conditions in the woods were funky, my nephew skied Pumphouse on Saturday, he said conditions were punchy. It should be noted that the Stateside cafeteria serves up a pretty nice clam chowder, in my uneducated opinion. It has been a lunch staple for a long time, and did not cost ten dollars 40 years ago. No pics, of course.
Finally made it to Plattekill Saturday. I see what all the fuss is about. Fun place. It was getting thin. Sunday Loon, thought it might be crowded but they have enough terrain and lift capacity to spread a lahge numbah of Massholes and othahs all ovah. No lines. Foggy AF though. Thought I would go to the Bush today as there will be a window of non rain there. Zigzagging around, Tremblant eventually
Short window of non rain, but it was more like very light drizzle at the Bush. It looks like April and it’s only mid March.
^ My next door neighbor and around the circle neighbor headed for Tremblant today. You know both of them. Skied with both of them at Stratton a coupla times. Keep an eye out. Neighbor Bill will be rockin an FRS jacket.
^^Bottle, dude on the guitar looks a lot like Vt-f
Might be a few days before I get up there. it’s one of the few bigger eastern places that I’ve never been to. Kinda psyched. MSA and le Massif were fun. Have heard good stuff about Tremblant.
I was up at Tremblant road biking the Petit Train du Nord and some other spots this summer. We stayed down in the "old town" at the historic Hotel Tremblant and ate at the Au Coin restaurant in the Hotel. I thought that was super chill swimming in the lake and hanging out by the pump track. We briefly checked out the plastic village at the base of the ski area and it was very touristy.
We did some longer road bike rides out away from Tremblant and it was really cool going through some of the small towns around there. Explore the area!
