This is the steel plate/plastic bezel combo that screws to the ski permanently using 6 standard binding mounting wood screws. The steel section measures 14cm long. This is(was) made by LINE. My contraption simply screws into some 6mm inserts in this plate, so the interface with the ski is actually a much larger area than the 4-hole pattern. I'll prob put together a carbon fiber version of this with a different 4 hole pattern later this year. 5 min to swap the bindings between skis with warm fingers. Thanks for your encouragement.

I didn't realize you were going to use the bio-plate on top of the Line freedom plate on the VCT. That looks like it'll distribute the binding forces sufficiently.

(I'm encouraging you... I just want to be there with a camera if/when the contraption fails spectacularly...)

another option in all these 'quickmount' ideas is the vist speedlock system (pro is pretty sweet). it's the same binders at the 4frnt deadbolt (available in 6-14 and 8-16 w/ wide brakes and upward release lockout). the plate is only about 1.5 cm high (you'd still be much lower off the ski than a pair of freerides or naxos) and it's a sinch to reposition fore-aft or even between skis.

I can't believe I am not the only one who still LOVES lawnchairs for touring!!! I just drilled a pair (from the garbage of a verb rental service, but apparently used very few times) with dynafit and am seriously considering to use them for the haute route :yourock:

They sure work for me, sir! A very lively ride, lots of "life" in the ski. On piste they are worse than donkeyballs though...

If I had to take one ski anywhere, it'd be my Gots + Freerides.

I might add...
(a) my Seths + Dynafits if it's more of a mountaineering trip;

(b) my Spats/Freerides if it's more of a pow-thang/heli-trip (wishful thinking).

Oh, for me, guess it'd be spats w/ Look Forza's and 185 XXX's w/ P12s. If I was expecting mostly groomers, swap in Stockli Stormriders for the spats.
