I was a Redskins fan from the late 70's until Snyder ruined the franchise. (Sanders playing for the Cowboys took it to the next level but then the 'Skins hired him and that was the final straw.)
Hype machine for life. Overrated, just like his fragile kids.
Watching them get pummeled was quite invigorating. Like a stout cup of Joe.

they somehow look worse than last year... with the exception of #2 and #12
it is kinda sad because I think Deion made people realize there's a lot of talent at HBCU..
but asking your kids to stay focused while flaunting gold/diamonds and inviting their favorite rappers to hang out goes to a kids head
the deion era has a few more seasons in it at most and thats goin on the top of my predictions list.
Man last night was just an insane game in Autzen. So many lows and highs. But satisfied with the win. Gabriel simply isn’t an elite QB, which too bad as the Ducks have some weapons. Hopefully they can sort out the O line. Defensive backfield is strongest the Ducks have had in a while. Boise State is a very solid team, and is well coached. Their fundamentals were very solid. Feels so weird to play the swamp rats in September. As of today the game against Ohio St seems like it’ll be a disaster for the Ducks
Dude, Gabriel has an 84% completion rate...he's not the problem. He had two deep balls yesterday that absolutely should have been caught and he's getting sacked by corner and safety blitzes every other play. Yes, he should read some of these and dump accordingly but it's very difficult to quarterback an offense when DBs and LBs are coming at you literally untouched.Quote:

CU with zero running game into year two is indicative of poor coaching.

I'm fine with Cal beating Auburn. (I'm fine with anyone beating an SEC team for that matter.) Cal seems to have a good QB, although neither Rogers or Goff got them to a major bowl game.
Watching in stadium Gabriel only looked at one receiver per play. He could’ve avoided some sacks with simply throwing the ball out of bounds. Plus he isn’t really a threat running which limits play calls. I also don’t think he can see the middle of the field. The sure TD that Stewart didn’t catch was a bad throw, he saw it was a wide open TD and just over cooked the throw. Not saying that the O line isn’t a disaster, it is. But I’d rather see Dante. Play calling was suspect, hate bubble screens and too many up the middle runs that weren’t working. The run game improved in the second half when they started running stretch plays and even some counters. The secondary played great and had some key break ups on tight plays. I think Boise has a better pass game than was apparent because the D did a great job on the back end. Their RB is the real deal.Quote:

Finally TV has ruined the in person experience. So much dead time for commercials. It’s great that a fan can watch almost any game from home, but watching in person is an exercise in patience. I agree with most of this but that 84% completion rate is fools gold. This offense has VERY easy throws as first options IE, 2023 Nix numbers. They are spoon feeding Gabriel and hoping he can make something happen but that just hasn't been seen yet.
I thought he was highly overrated last season and worst case Ducks do have Dante Moore just cashing his check right now. Obviously the best scenario is they can figure stuff out and Dante is ready to go for next season...

Play calling was absolutely shit. If you have one of the best receiving corps in the nation, passing 21 times all game is unacceptable. Running on 2nd and 3rd and long while tied is garbage. Especially when Evan Stewart was absolutely cooking his DB every down. That dude is really good, let alone Tez (three passes all game for -1 yards???) and Holden.
Defense looks really good. Muhammad is the real deal while Johnson, Savage and Reed seemed to be everywhere at once. Burch and Harmon are a nasty combo as well.
The offense just looks like hammered shit and they better fix it or someone is getting fired, asap. Waaaaay too much talent to play that sloppy and an Oregon team with a had offense is incomprehensible.

I don't know how you improve your O line markedly 2 games into the season. I think you have to adapt and run a lot of quick routes, misdirections, counters, flats passes, draws,etc.

probably only play the Ducks and Penn State as top 15 ranked opponents before the playoffs. They could feasibly not see a team capable of making the playoffs in the regular season. Meanwhile in the SEC....

LSU-USC was a really good college football game (if a little sloppy, but thats CFB). Brian Kelly's blood pressure gives heavy machinery hydraulic systems a run for their money.
backyard brawl was another good one.
This is the first time CU has played CSU in Fort Collins since 1995. That’s bizarre!
Why don’t they go back and forth from Boulder to FC like other normal rivalries?
I believe the CU-CSU game is typically played at Mile High stadium. At least that’s where it was played the 3 years I lived in boulder in the 2000s

Travis Hunter is fucking good. 2 TDs, 100 yds receiving, 1 INT, played almost every down.

The primary reason is he's 6' on a good day. I don't know. Seems like a pretty damned good college QB to me....he's reading defenses, using his legs, making all manner of passes and has a ridiculous completion rate. He also seems to stay very calm and collected. But some peeps are going to keep doubting him until he actually screws up, then say "told you!". Stop waiting for Bo to come back...it ain't happening.
