On a CBC show it might have been " as it happens " they interviewed a blind climber and the first question was how did he go blind ?
Masturbation was his deadpan answer, he was gona stop while he just needed glasses but messed up eh
LOL Surprised they didn't edit that out, being hoity-toity CBC and all.
I thot it was funny and kind of suprising for a national radio show
Damn you guys, I’m trying to lose some weight here. This is not helping!
I see it mentioned above, and
I believe both positions have merit -
I will include Olympic Flame's gyros among my favorite sandwiches ;
we have More than forty years history, and Olympic Flame is on it's second owners...
I have no arguement with those that want separate categories for Other than traditional sandwiches, and for the function of this thread, I believe there is value in including other hand-held ( sandwiches ) !
eat up ! skiJ
A sandwich that a lot of places make around here is chicken cutlets, fresh mozzarella, roasted peppers, and pesto on nice crusty bread of course. I think you could put fresh mozz and roasted peppers on dog shit and it would taste good.
let it go..
It seems we've overlooked the venerable sausage and pepper wedge.
Yeah, I want some foul red slug to crawl all over my sandwich leaving a trail of slime that overpowers everything I wanted to taste. Sounds awesome, where do I sign up?

peppers depend on timing
Shit, now things are getting serious. Olives and sun-dried tomatoes are great but don't really belong on sandwiches. But when it comes to roasted red peppers, I stand with Riser4.
Lots of greatest hits in this thread. My top ones in no particular order would be reuben, a great torta, eggplant parm, hot italian, pork w/ broccoli rabe. One that I whip up sometimes but people around me find disgusting: tuna, diced red bell peppers, jarred spaghetti sauce, cheddar cheese on whole wheat.
Roasted red peppers are better than industrial tomatoes on cold Italian sandwich, for instance.
Oh, fuck. Good olives in Italy are amazing. Most of the olives here are pretty meh or salted to death.
And the guy who lived in Japan and Singapore eats tuna cheddar spaghetti sandwiches? I'm.. just... speechless :biggrin:
Banh mi has gotta be my overall favorite. I rarely make a BLT or order one, but some places do it well enough that I have to get it.
My favorite TGR-related sandwich is probably a club and a tallboy from General Grits.
Tacos. My favorite sandwich is tacos.
