Fluff ball doing what she does.
Morning walk (30min. from my doorstep by car and then 30 more minutes skinning) :D. Starts to get hot around 9:30 AM though.
Once the snow gets supportive I can't action shots because he's right on my heels.

Awesome thread! Lots of pooch smiles while playing over the white stuff.
BUMP!
Can't wait for more of this thread.
First snow, not skiing though...

The surly look on my dog Spider's face after I tell him to shut the f*ck up and give me a second to transition. Love the guy and love his enthusiasm for the down but the incessant whining can be a little much. Gimme a god damn second!!!!
Anyone else's dog lose their f*cking minds as you are transitioning?..... Oh wait, I can guess the answer to that question. We're talking about dogs after all.
Ha, yeah. I can identify. Maisie is out for the season however. I sit here waiting for the call from the vet surgeon in Calgary as to when she goes under the knife for an ACL repair. Maisie and I will be fondly following this thread and living vicariously through you folks and all your dogs. Go get some for Maisie and I please.
The skiing was just plain terrible today. Clancy didn't care. He did insist on being backlit most of the day.

We stopped taking Scooter because her nervous whining started to freak us out. Nothing like incessant nervous whining when you want to be calm and listen.
Jessie’s dead quiet, which is great, but Kedar is the master. Mills around at the top, often out of view, then somehow shows up just as I’m lowering/grabbing my poles, watches intently, then bolts:
My guy from today;

Tough conditions for a dog today. Almost 30" over the last couple days with a punchy layer half way down. Less dog smiles than is usual.

So what is the prognosis Gary? Will she make a recovery back to full-on dog mode or does that remain to be seen.
Pretty good prognosis given her age, her shape going into surgery and the fact that I'm going at her physio like it's my full time job. Doc says she should make a full recovery. She was also weight bearing the day after surgery, so that's good. Scary thought is that there's a 50% chance she blows her right rear stifle now...
( right knee, hind leg )
Gary has everything else and
I will delete this post when he follows-up.
GfT - ' Glad Surgery went well
( no reason to worry about her right leg - Life happens - though you might encourage her to limit cliff jumps to twice her height
( landings aren't rear leg heavy anyway. )
' Glad Surgery went well ! !!
Go Maisie ! !! skiJ
Best wishes to Maisie on her full recovery Gary!
And fabulous shots all. Lexa can't do the deep backcountry anymore, but she gets very stoked on the XC runs. I swear to upgrade the phone and take some pics worthy of sharing soon.
Happy New Year!
