If only you were the hero I thought you were. Because of your timing, I may never ski switch to the road again.

Picked up some minty Speed RS off Craigslist a couple of seasons ago, going to try and make the switch.

Anyone add second upper bolt to their 140s? Tempted to try it out.

Just have the first bolt in, but I did read Paul Forward's Blister RS review talking about drilling and adding the second bolt to enhance support for when he's with backpack. Seems easy enough, likely unnecessary for me..

There’s a pair Dstar SpeedZones in GS very reasonably priced!

Haven't, but might. I'll have to see how they behave in the cold first. ONK makes a fair point in the Atomic thread on how second bolts only make the response more direct and fixate whatever alignment adjustment you've made, not necessarily make the cuff stiffer. Interesting stuff.

Anyone have experience with the fixed rear cuff spoilers versus the velcro liner ones?

What was I waiting for!
Shoulda been in these boots years ago, and I sort of knew it
Bumping this thread. Looking to upgrade to WCR 130 or 140. Last season in Lange Shadow LV 130 with Garas. I was folding this boot most of the time.
6'2" 240, ex racer, on big traditional skis. Will the 130 be sufficently stiffer than the Shadow or should I just go 140? Not looking for something that will be a total brick when its cold. Admittedly I'm partial to the 130 for the grey color and normal buckles.
How much stiffer (if any) is the Shadow compared to a Lange RS 130?
Compared to RS 130s, Raptor 140s are significantly stiffer in the shop and on snow. Not a brick, but can be tougher than some to get off on cold days.
I also think the Raptors are significantly lower volume than Langes 97mm LV last.
The Black and Yellow WCR 140S Pro from 2023 are my favorite boots I've ever owned. I bought a fresh new pair this summer on sale for cheap. Not perfect though, I don't love the buckles, the toe/heels chip easier than expected, and I wish they had a bit more shock absorption in the boot board.
