I have made the decision to no longer use the same fishing gear when I visit my Mom (age 92 !) back in Wisconsin as I use here in Montana. Her lake has been completely overrun by almost every invasive species there is. Last fall when I helped my uncle take out his boat lift it was covered by millions of zebra mussels. Yuck.
So I purchased an almost new 8-weight St. Croix rod here on TGR (thanks sledski) and this afternoon I rigged it up for Wisconsin bass & pike. Next time I am back there I will leave this rod at my Mom's.

Got my first tarpon. On the fly, 80#. Whooped my ass for 40 min before getting a hand on it. Jumped 125# the day before, but threw the fly after two jumps.
