Tune in tomorrow and don't share that link freely!
Damn.
Having James Casey on horn was a good call. Added flavor
That was a solid.
Santana and Bill Nershi joining in tonight.
Haven’t seem to have found the launch pad yet... hoping Fire will light the fuse.
Just watched tonight’s tease, gotta say they’re better without Carlos. Tom and Billy blow him away playing these songs.
Single you guys should come down for JGB 8/1 at Maine Craft Distilling. Should be a rippah.
We can put you up

Yes, agree... Carlos looked a bit lost unfortunately. Elephant in the room.
Thanks for the offer TC... I’m gonna try and score tix to Billy 7/31&8/1 in NH. We’ll see
Good call, I’ll see if the lady wants to do the 8/31 Billy show. Already have tix for Jer’s birthday
The acoustic sesh after was epic. To Lay Me Down was da bomb

Strings:“All you old dudes, like my mom and her friends, smoke pinners!”
Kreutzman: “Not me, I want more!”
LOL
I love Carlos, but he was def kinda lost for most of that.
i didn't get to tune in but i hate to hear that. i guess he may be slippin a bit which sucks to see.
ummm i just watched Carlos shred a very nice solo in Iko and then the other one, trading licks, jamming with magner etc. You guys take the brown acid or wat?
stoked to review this in more detail when things settle down. i spent the weekend jamming out with Leftover Salmon at Red Rocks and still digesting that.
Not sure what it was but Carlos just wasn't necessary, other than the fact that Santana was playing with them which is cool. Tom and Billy were enough
With respect to Carlos, It appeared to me that the band gave him space that he never really filled with developed playing. He didn’t do himself any favors by trailing off quickly on several licks leaving awkward spaces to follow, turning his own volume down on himself several times, and then launching into a short, but odd, Riders on the Storm. Maybe he got too high with the Billy’s. Or maybe I was waiting for the Carlos from Woodstock to show up.
Exactly my thoughts as well.
After Billy would rip it up, Carlos would do something interesting for maybe 12 bars. Then, the "Billy effect" wore off.
He was basically out of his element.
Carlos is fine (and gets my respect) when he stays in his pentatonic Am blues thing. I'm trying to recall if he broke out of that when he did those recordings with John McLaughlan. Of course, those were recordings and not live.
In one sense, this reminds me of Steve Winwood and Eric Clapton. Clapton has been phoning it in for years. When the two of them are on stage together, Winwood elevates Claptons's level.

I barely had time to watch and listen last night. Interesting takes here. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...d66614cfab.jpg

So I take it back. Carlos found himself on Scarlett ... and then Billy rips it upon Aiko.

Anyone got any insight on why so many dates on the tour are "Venue TBA"? Did they really book a tour without locking down promoters? That sounds impossible, but I don't recall ever seeing a tour announcement that didn't list venues.
It's not though, because the MT venues are going gangbusters with no-restrictions shows. Dozens of announcements for Missoula shows this week alone but nothin' about Mr. Strings.
Got my pit tickets for Kettlehouse!
Tix for Kettle house secured. Driving from Boise, anyone know of nearby camp grounds that are open past labor day. A good MTB ride to take while there and or fly fishing?
Just released
Go see Billy Strings!
Just announced Colorado date.
