Oh yeah, lol, bring your rubber rain gear y'all.
Oh yeah, lol, bring your rubber rain gear y'all.
plus maybe we'll lose a little traffic from the valentines doing more romantic things. not.
i never considered investing in ski rain gear until bbi18
or we could also make personalized trash bags, I mean rain ponchos
yes! skiing in the rain is underrated. sometimes those were the best days within a few week range in VT
softens it up
These are the key.

yeah yeah, I asked the radiologist to photoshop out the big hog
yes- the hands must stay warm
I need to get a set of those for the couple days a yr like that
I'll even add a nice hand warmer on the chillier days- boom
hahahahah LMFAO at that. took me a minute .
I had a long , physically laborious day today and this thread has pulled me right out of my fatigue. So much great vibe in August, sick photo stoke and that awesome sense of anticipation that we all kinda get.
NWS - good thing you got us up and running on the thread. Sounds like more than a coupla mags were ready to blow. Finally some real summer stokeage.
baby bear - thx for the invite. We'll meet and ski long before BBI I expect. We'll get the JH contingent dialed and rolling in the Heavy Attack Mode.
Are you planning on BBI UT as well?
About that rain gear thing. I always wondered if you could ski in one of those Tyvek jumpsuits. Just don't fall or you're off to the races.
Raincorn - geez it's been a while since I had some of that.
The night skiing looks Tits.
OK, now I feel good enough to go get in a little training time.
For Alpental.
After a coupla tubes...:smoking:
Hermann's coming?
I’m not even breathing hard. But thanks for asking!
I had a couple fantastic rain corn days. One of the best was Monday (3/13) the week before Serpentine Massacre (3/18). No recent snowfall (I think like 5 days), and no real hard freeze, so super soft wet corn. Perfect for charging down the mountain with nice carved turns.
You can get Helly Hanson work wear rain gear (jacket, bibs, or pants) for like 50 bucks on sites like amazon. Heard I believe on TGR that their work wear rain gear kept the rain out 100% but stored a large quantity of heat. I need to pick up some for next season, though I sweat heavy and easily, so it could be interesting to see how it works for me.
It’s climbing back up towards 87%. Was super stressed out from summer school and other bullshit this past week.
I wanna go just to see if I can keep up with Abraham, Norseman, 2funky and LWS. I assume Rx and Billy Goats are the skis to bring, looking at the terrain and you guys talking about rain.

Mofro is the one who is going to show you that you can't ski for shit. Trust me on that. Dude rips. And makes it look easy.
You should come out if you can swing the trip.
Look for flights to SeaTac. Sometimes there are cheapies on Alaska Airlines. I could pick you up from the airport if you fly in Wednesday or super early Thursday morning, as I'll be going past it anyway.
I’m next

I’m starting my BBI training. 32L pack with a couple massive watermelons, climbing the shit out of some hills today. Gotta strengthen that core if I’m gonna keep up with you mogul bashers
Mogul bashers, ha.
Man I hate moguls unless they're made of slush. I wouldn't fixate on moguls as a training goal, fwiw.
Im more of a mogul basherd.
Focus on learning to efficiently ski mank.

You can get a nice second ski day after the lights come on. Norse, GfromT and occasionally Piper added some great pow runs under the lights last year. It's not crowded, and when it dumps it gets hard to stop and go home Bring something else in case you decide to sell those. There will be plenty of goat lovers skiing there this year too
“Bowling ball size debris”. If only...
Hey, sometimes the debris skis better than the rest.
in.
It was the 2011/2012 season*. Other than the season not really kicking off until mid January it was solidly mediocre.
*3/13/12 and 3/13/18 are both Mondays, though looks like the snowskate event took place on the 26th that year. March that season was also blanketed in snow, so minor differences.
Completely unrelated and certainly doesnt belong in this thread, where does onthesnow get their snow data from? I was looking at the snowfall data for the 2017/2018 season for top stats - https://www.onthesnow.com/news/a/632...-for-2017-2018 - and it got me looking into individual resort data, particularly in the PNW obviously. Apparently Stevens pass got under 300 inches, and every other western WA resort had below average snowfall by a decent amount, which we know is not true. Could this be due to the topography and microclimates that cause the government sites to be accurate, but not at the correct locations. The snow depth seems like they were taken from the resort measurements, so they reflect the data that I saw throughout the season.
