Boom-Boom gets back to 4! Come on Freddy, make it to Sunday for us this year!
fatlefty goes plunk!
Holy hell DJ shit the bed there.
But..... Boom Boom in at -5!
My cousin from Thousand Oaks, he went to high school with the Gretzky kids.
After seeing this thread I asked him if he's ever met this Paulina angel. He said he's not a fan of her because she got a lot of girls in his grade to take up the nose candy habit. Tough to avoid that habit in that area I guess, but still not very admirable. Don't get crazy though, I'm not saying I'd kick her out of bed by any means.
ruh roh, TW heating up the flatstick from loooong range.
Apparently he is a slow guan. :yourock:
But seriously he is the youngest player since Tom Morris in 1865!
It is one thing to make the cut at the masters, but to do that at age 14. Crazy!!
Does Mike Tirico's head remind anyone else of a bowling ball?
Wait, you're telling me this chick knows how to party?
Huh, never thought about that before.

boom boom representing beacon hill gc!

The merchandising alone pays for everything. That tourney is a fucking cash cow. They own and run the whole thing. Everytime you see that little yellow map with a pin in it..$$$$$$$$. My golf pro bud says the club runs a surplus every year but vote to put it back into the facilities. The dues are tradition and are cheap in comparison to some other dbag clubs.
Tiger scuffling a tad on the back. Horrible luck hitting the stick and then ending up in the water.
Good question. Dont know how that works...
anyone else catch the 2x f bombs after the long approach on 18 by tw?
Hhahaha just caught that....^^^^
Someone on the telecast said that Guan's group was a full hole behind the previous group. That is an extraordinary achievement when considering that each group is basically waiting on every tee/approach, and the pace of play in general is glacial. It doesn't even seem possible to get a full hole out of position. I just wonder if it was all Guan, or the fact that Crenshaw was shooting a billion. I think Manassero is pretty quick so I doubt he had anything to do with it.
re: Masters finances
They have so much money that financing this tournament is like your company picnic. The club snubs $$millions from TV ads and merchandising to ensure total control. They could get can get a few million with a couple of emails to the right members. I mean, they even have a heating/cooling system on some greens. Its a bizzarro world to us mere mortals.
first penalty for slow play EVER in the masters? to the 14 year old wunderkind from china? hard to believe there hasn't been somebody worthy of a penalty before.
My guess is that the membership fees/dues are for the opportunity to say "I AM A MEMBER" at Augusta National. Not the total annual nut. I read once that if you play to often you'll get a reprimand.
Big bucks here

Rumor is Tiger took an illegal drop on 15 and could be DQ'd tomorrow......wow
that would really blow. so what? he just wasn't thinking? distracted by the immediately preceding shitty luck? does the caddie have any responsibility?
This is absolutely fascinating. If he hit it fat and just plunked one in the water, he could have dropped where he did as he could drop anywhere behind the point of entry inline with the flag. So two yards or 200 yards would be no problem. Problem is, the ball last crossed the margin of the hazard on the other side of the pond rolling backwards. That point of entry would give you a drop line extending at about a 45 degree angle away from the pin in the front left by the bridge and some trees. He nixed the drop area option, so he's left with the "as nearly as possible" option. If he said he dropped two yards further back, that infers that he knew precisely where he played the shot from, so how would that be "as nearly as possible"? Meanwhile, the Guan situation has set a precedent of the tournament officials trying to be tough guys, so if they ding Guan but let Tiger off, it's going to be a shitstorm. If they DQ Tiger (only punishment they have available) then it will be an even bigger shitstorm.
He said today it was the wind. Yesterday he was also really fucking slow. Today he could not make the adjustment when on the clock, and fucked up. Other guys, having been put on the clock, make the timing adjustment and don't get penalized. Pretty simple and not unusual. They are getting put on the clock on the regular and figure out a way to make the adjustment that day.
He seemed to say in an interview that he knew about the penalty and weighed it against the bad outcome of taking a shot he wasn't committed to. Took a chance and lost. How did the next shot go for him? But yeah. HIT THE BALL, damnit. Glad they have the rule.
seems like several players including crenshaw weren't completely behind it. in any case, it's hard to believe he was the first who could have been penalized.
i doubt it needed to be done in this case any more than it apparently needed to be done before.
Tiger and Guan. Ging to be an interesting morning.
I wish penalties for slow play were more common. If you ask any of the old timers what's wrong with today's game, in front of the golf ball being too advanced they'll say slow play. Some guys go so far as to say they wouldn't even play today's game because of it. It would have been pretty terrible though if the kid didn't get to stick around for the weekend because of it.
2 stroke penalty.
Guy on golf channel is ripping Tiger, says he needs to DQ himself.
