Dark Horse Too Cream Stout, another great brewery out of the mitten state.
As much as I love a dark lord or such, dry Irish stouts still keep me coming back ( little smoke, menthol, saline).
O'haras was great in Ireland.
As its really cold now, I'll have to go dig out a RIS now.
Holy shit! Long time no post, dude!
Growler? best thing idea or worst invention in history???

My current favorite
I picked up some La Noire Soeur over the weekend. It is drinkable. It has some interesting qualities. I wouldn't kick it out of bed. But not my favorite.
Stone/Alchemist woot stout on tap
Holy fuck i hope its still here for lunch
Bartender lied, I cant find any info saying its an alchemist collaboration but either way, all 13.5 % is delicious
California vs. Colorado. OK, one's technically a porter, but I think they both fit the thread nicely.

Good Morning from Treehouse just shot to the top of the charts. Guy that I work with scored a growler and said it was really really good.

Attachment 169487 wife is feeding little one in the parking lot-- so naturally I'm posting on TGR... Anyhow can't wait to get home and try this. Skeptical as Ninkasi has generally sucked the last several years...
Meh. It's good but not great. Way too malty for a milk stout.
IMO the I only worthy local stout in the EUG is Attachment 169488
Aass Gourmet Stout. And not just because the brewery has a cool name.

I fucking love it. Googles sez it's a Norwegian beer? Is it imported in the U.S.?
Someone just gave me a 6 of Pearl Necklace Oyster Stout with the recommendation that I drink it with a dozen or so fresh oysters.
I am going to explore that this weekend.

looks innerestin'. 6.9 is kind of high for a stout no?
Russian imperials tend to push 10% if memory serves...
Buddy shared a Weyerbacher Sunday Morning Stout, aged in Burbon barrels with coffee, recently. Very good, 11.3% ABV. Wood drink again.
I thought Russian/Imperial stouts ran higher, 8+. I would think 7% is on the high end of the spectrum for a stout. Eek, 11.3, I don't know if I could get through a pint of that.... Well, I guess if I had to :)
This comes to mind..

Here's a good article if you are looking for the difference between various styles of stouts:

It's indeed brewery in Norway. I've only found it locally at AJ'S Fine Foods years ago. Stouts are easily my favorite beer, and this one still stands out in my memory as one of the most delicious and drinkable.
I've had more luck finding non stout brews from Aass at local liquor stores.
I tried 14th Star's Imperial Stout last night. Didn't like. Too bitter.
Possibly. However everything they make is too bitter. Their "Pilsner" is pretty very much a pale ale. They make a maple stout too. Don't like. Bitter. With a weird maple syrup thing going on. Nice folk though. VTNG vet. Making a go of it. Everybody else around here likes their beer. So I'm the oddball I guess. I still go try their stuff.
Winter is coming...thank you for this thread.
Tried this out last night... Pretty good. Just a touch sweeter than ideal for me but still glad I got it.

Dear TGR;
I do not drink alcohol as a rule before noon. However I have been made aware of a "Breakfast" Stout. Is it OK to drink it other than at breakfast?
Yours Truly,
