Am I the only one here who doesn't see Iraq/Iran/Afganistan as Vietnam II?
I see this as more of Bush attempting to do what the Soviet Union did after World War II when they invaded Eastern Europe to create a "safety zone" and prevent further invasions from Europe. Can't say this policy turned out to be a success in the long run but to say that Iraq and Vietnam are the same thing seems a little unrealistic.
We are talking about the same President who said he did not want the US to engage in nation building right? I feel like pulling out my flip flops.
I also got a kick about how he said he will do everything he can to bring a divided nation back together. This from the same guy who stated that he intends on using the political capital gained from the election to push his adjenda. He is fervently trying to push partial-privitization of Social Security through despite the lack of support from the "other side". How is this trying to bring the nation together?
I feel like we are watching the real life version of Two Face from the Batman comics.
I want to know if the Bush supporter's would support Bush if he decides to go into or just bomb Iran from the sky. Now before you answer remember the flack Clinton got from Republicans for bombing Bosnia from the sky.
