Finally, there goes my possibility of being productive this morning!
Jennifer Clarkson?
Very very long time coming. Glad this happened on a suitable track with sensible tyres and people that can drive.
The Porsche sounded like a bit of an animal, Chris admitted to being legit scared f thrashing it with the systems off in his first video of it. These cars are totally bonkers, I'm not sure wtf I do with it if I actually owned one, Tiff looked a little out of his depth at times. I guess it is cool they exist and great engineering; which one is faster is just an academic willy waving contest so I'm not sure why people online get so silly about it.
Not having driven any (obviously) head says P1 and heart says Ferrari. In reality even if I was loaded I'd just have a GT3 RS.
Random aside: I visited the place that does most of the CF work on the P1 last week (work related).
I wondered because they cut back and forth from interior to exterior shots and in the exterior shots the driver is wearing a helmet, it could be anyone.
If I recall he was wearing a helmet during hot laps and then not when "just" hooning around?
I don't think he routinely uses a stunt driver a la top gear though.
If you haven't watched his other stuff you should. The F40 vs Enzo one is particularly fabulous.
And he races at a pretty reasonable level in (mostly) historics.
This link is suspect for one reason and one only: There's no reader comment section. How are we supposed to verify the truth of the article without anonymous comments from humans and bots alike?
But if we can get past that glaring suspicion one other thing stands out: wasn't the whole point of going to Amazon over other competitors that Jezza and co. would have 100% editorial control? And that would include "non-politically correct behavior", no? If that's the case then it's hard to believe that the spat would have arose out of that. Who knows, it would be a bummer if true. What the hell kind of website is this anyway a British motoring tabloid? .org? Kanye articles? Seems fishy.
Yeah, it will be for sure. I thought the same thing as I typed my above post - Amazon has some pretty envelope pushing stuff as is and if the recent (NYT I think?) expose on Bezos and the culture at Amazon is anything near true, it seems like he would be the last rage-a-holic to care about being politically correct with the hired help.
Just curious, but does anyone know if or when either of these shows is rolling out for us to watch?
BBC has ads claiming May 2016 for new episodes
With Joey as host?!?
Actor Matt LeBlanc to co-host 'Top Gear'

So, is it Evans, Harris and Schmitz or is it Evans and LeBlanc?
BBC also reporting Leblanc as co host
Yeah I was just about to post this.

Don't get me wrong I thought he was a fine guest and I think his comedy is good on Episodes, but I don't know how he fits into TG.
Major fail. Looking forward to the new unfiltered Amazon Top Gear
"Harris is understood to have already signed up to the show. He gave an additional major clue to his involvement when he announced this week that he would only be making four more videos for his YouTube business before closing the account. He tweeted that the Patreon account, which is thought to have netted him more than £4,000 per month, would be closing:."
So 4 hosts?
I guess that's the answer to "How many presenters does it take to replace an orangutan, an American, and a paisley shirt"?
Geez that's a crowd.
In a bit of a reversal from the old show, all the hosts are going to stand in a circle around the three people who are actually in the studio to watch the taping.
I wonder if they threw Eddie Jordan in the mix because they were paying him anyway?
BBC just jumped ship early from it's F1 contract... Jordan, who worked on their F1 show might have been on a multiple year contract ? Seems odd choice otherwise?
I still don't understand why Joey from friends either.
guess they'll be testing lots of minivans!
eddie better be bringing his girlfriends along!

I like Chris Harris and Sabine but I just don't think they can replicate the chemistry and humor of the originals. They have tried many times over in other countries and it never comes off. The show was more than the obligatory motorcycle or other object doing a trick over the speeding car and the Stig. I hope it is good. If they were intent on bringing an American why not bring in Tanner Foust ? I will watch regardless.
Neither Harris nor Schmitz have any real TV personality or gravity... Harris' clips were great because he had such genuine excitement about the cars, and he didn't do anything to water that down. Even in the Drive shows on TV these days, you can see that Harris fancies himself as a bit of a star now, and it only hurts his delivery. He was better when it seemed he couldn't quite believe what was happening.
Schmitz is a great driver. They ought to give her a segment called "Stars in an incredibly fast Porsche", where she scares the shit out of celebrities while doing 7:30 laps of the Nurburgring in GT3 RS. And that ought to be it.

i loved the reliant robin episode of TG...is this a jump-the-shark moment before the show even starts?
If you put a reliant robin on a treadmill, will it take off or flip over and burn?
