Not me - i'm just a pervert.
Hang in there. It must be rough being depressed and not being able to drink, that's how I deal with it.
GT40, if your wanderings bring you to Sacramento, I'll buy the first round of whatever you want. The snow is coming to help fight those inner-demons in all of us. We'll help in whatever way we can to get you through it.
[Good Vibes Transmitting... Now.]
That HAS to be the most surreal shit that's EVER gone down in Maggot lore!!!
Porter fucking Rockwell alive and well in the West Desert!
Maybe you and splat should cruise the highways and whorehouses of the West together. :D:D:D
GT, we have more in common than you know. Depression can make life a living hell, but the help I have gotten has put my world into a different perspective, a better perspective.
Having a psychologist for a wife does not hurt either. (Well, sometimes  )
There are many people in this same boat. The trick is to do your best not to let it sink or even take on water.
Nothing cures my sometimes depressed self like a GOOD SNOWFALL, SO START SHAKIN' THE JUNK IN THE TRUNK!!!!
{Buzz does a snowdance}
Glad things seems to be on the up swing, Dr. GT40. :D  :D

edit: I'm not ashamed anymore to say this too. And that has taken years. You are already ahead of the game.
{GT40 now does a snowdance}
:D
GT, good to know you're a-OK and managed to get through this latest bout.
Depression's nothing to sneeze at.
Look forward to meeting you this winter!
Glad to have you back!!!:D
Nice to see that even through depression you can laugh at yourself. ;)
Not an easy place to be.
Thank goodness for medicine and all the wonderful new drugs!
:D

Depression has a long and painful history in my family and in my life. There is no logic to it. Every day out under the open sky away from the cares and distractions is a blessing to me and keeps me focused on the good.
Here's to GT40! May the snows come soon, and all our cares stay where they belong.
Really. I'm just staying put. I've got classes I'm taking in Photoshop and also digital video editing. Hope to turn out some better quality stuff this year. But if Utah is missing the storms this year, I'm travling more. :DQuote:

Will someone talk to this man, he has learned to talk jiberish and this needs fixed right away.
Now, if we all just do a snowdance once per day, we should have it covered (pun intended).
BOOGIE TIME, NOW DANCE!!!!!
One night a man had a dream.
He dreamed he was walking along the beach with the Magots.
Accross the sky flashed scenes from his life.
For each scene he noticed 2 sets of footprints in the sand: one belonging to him and the other belonging to the Magot collective.
When the last scene of his life flashed before him, he looked back at the footprints in the sand.
He noticed that many times along the path of his life there was only 1 set of footprints.
This really bothered him and he questioned the Magots about it.
"Magots", you said that once I decided to follow you, you'd walk with me all the way. But I have noticed durning the most troblesome times in my life, there is only 1 set of footprints. I don't understand why when I needed you the most you would leave me.
------------------------ THE MAGOTS REPLIED ----------------------
Our son, our prexious child,
We love you and we would never leave you.
During your time of trial and surrering,
when you see only one set of footprints,
it was then that we carried you.
:)
How do all the maggots leave just one set of footprints?
Alright GT40, I wasn't going to do this, but MD9 begged me to...
If it will make you feel any better, I guess I could let you photograph me this winter.
Who loves ya baby! :D
When I finally get back to skiing. (Please, please, please)
I will be leaving one set of ski tracks, but the Magot collective will be skiing there with me.
And why would anyone want pictures of you ??? ;)Quote:

First off, I wasn’t going to post this here but, sometimes you just gotta say WTF! (This really hits home with me)
We don’t really know each other, missed out on a couple opps at Hood the last couple summers but, I’ve been where you are at. Most likely will be again at some point in the future. It’s something that is constantly with you and it never really goes away.
I’ve dealt with it for probably 25 years, didn’t realize it up until the last few though. Things can and will get better, even though it seems at times that things get amplified, magnified and compounded. I’m not an expert by any means and even the people who are in “the profession” don’t always have the answers. All I can really suggest is to find what works for you and don’t give up trying until you find “it”. Use all your resources; family, friends, even internet wacko/pervs. People as a whole are good and... people do care
:)
Best of luck man
The first Maggot was post-holing and everyone else was smart enough to follow along in his steps.Quote:

Sluffhunter. It would be just like me to try and break a new trail, while the rest of the maggots are boot packing to the top. ;)
Phunk, I thought you were saving yourself for Powho? It would be cool to cover some more angles like we did at Humpty and Flagstaff.
Hey Buzz, I haven't got any action shots of you yet. Is this the year?
Heh, that's exactly what I was thinking when I saw Nate's rerply, but I thought I'd keep my mouth shut for once.Quote:

Heh. It takes one to know one. Drop me an email at pow4drcrash [at] hotmales [dawt] con (or holler here, I check that more often) if you, MD9, or MOE get near Redmond/Seattle. Drinks on me.Quote:

Depression sucks. Several people close to me have had bouts with it and it was hard not only for them but also the people who cared about them. The good news is that it can be overcome. Hope you can overcome it. Besides winter is coming and so is deep powder and that will help any skiers depression. I dont' doubt that you'll get through it.
here's a picture of some puppies. everybody is happy when they see puppies.http://www.puppies-for-sale.info/db_...r_Puppies1.jpg
You got that right for sure!!!Quote:

I have been practicing back flips on 2P's trampoline. I think I got it. We get some good pow at Basin, and Im pulling a back flip on my snowboard.
Action pics of me would be a lovely thing to see this year. The board is already waxed up. Binders tightened. Im READY!!!!
I seriouly can't wait to see me slutting myself on the BB. Then I will feel complete. ;)
I feel so amped right now just thinking about getting some................plus I see High Life tonight at USU!!! :D
You coming up by chance to see some good ski porn??
The look on their face says:

Hi dad! We left some "presents" for you on the kitchen floor!
Who you callin' pervert? :D
It seems you have kept your sense of humor intact. I'd be depressed too if I lost 3 wives. ;)
Good luck.
GT- good to hear that things have improved. Like Sluff said, you are never truly alone with us watching your back. Heather, Myself and our four-year-old are staying at the Peruvian 12/11-12/14 and hope to make some turns with you. I'll buy the cocoa after skiing.
Hey, MD9's thread has also been a cure, at least for me, for some of our own maggot wounds (maybe not Pinner's herpes :p) since it reminds me why I spend so much time around here: we are real friends, bound by a shared passion and zeal for living, and despite the fact that our landlord upped the proverbial rent at powder, we're still picking each other up and sharing the "stoke" - we have many miles yet left in us, and many epic days to share.
Thanks to MD9, MOE, and GT40 for leading the way with their kindness, sharing, and infectious enthusiasm - we owe you guys a lot!!

Conjoined Fetus Puppies?
Glad to hear you're doing better GT40. We'll make some turns this winter.
I learned something today
"A farmer and a neighbor of Joseph Smith, founder of Mormonism, Rockwell became an early convert and journeyed with the Saints, as they called themselves, from New York to their several stops in the Midwest and finally to Salt Lake City. The guerilla fighter and bodyguard to Smith earned the nickname "The Destroying Angel," a sobriquet that was reinforced when Rockwell got to Utah and became an Indian fighter, hunter of cattle rustlers, bodyguard to Brigham Young and, in general, the Mormon muscleman."
Rockwell was a badass, no way around it.
If you travel, make your way to Tahoe and I will be able to return the favor of the amazing tour of SB you and Stoy led us on last year. In fact, I will video and photo you during the tour, burn the images on a CD and give it to you to keep. And, I will throw in a guestroom to boot.Quote:

If you are lucky, I will convince Splat to pull himself away from PM Gear to ride with us. ;)
Because we all only have one set of feet... yours. Remember?Quote:

This brings up a very important question. All maggots are manifestations/figments of iceman's imagination... are the minions the same? And does iceman actually run THIS board? Think about it. ONS is a maggot, and a figment of iceman's imagination. Is iceman *gasp* GOD?
[/carrying an old joke waaaaaay too far] ;)
GT40: two of my friends have pretty serious issues with depression, so i have second-hand experience with what you're going through. I'll tell you what I told them: anything I can do to help, I'm here. Ain't no rhyme or reason to depression, so you just have to find something that lets you forget about it for a while. I know you have skiing, but I'd advise you to find something without an 8 month long off-season. :) Hang in there dood, and drinks are on me (non-alcoholic, for your mormon tastes, and also because i'm not old enough to buy beer).
Will this guy ever have to buy a drink again? At least you know you'll never be thirsty, GT40. :)
skiing is definetly the best way to self medicate depression. My stepdad died febuary 2002, it really sucked because we were just getting to be on good terms with each other and were planning on going on our first ski trip together, i really wanted to show him how good i had gotten in just a few short years. needless to say i took his death really hard (he was only 36) what really helped me was skiing the day before his funeral. Although i spent much of that day fighting back tears, the beautiful bluebird day in the mountains helped me alot. anyway, feel better:)

From everything i have heard and read about you over the years, you are one awesome induvidual. Cheers, SS
Thanks again guys for all your kindness. But I'll soon not be able to surf the BB, without demanding praise and adoration being heaped upon me, in abundance. ;)
I guess we all have our trials to overcome. If it's not depression, it's parking ticket or girlfriends.
:D
I am really ready to start hikiing for some turns.
Aaaaarrrrmmmm twisted!!Quote:

GT - Anytime you want to go skiing, I'm with ya, dude. Anywhere.
LPH, Splat, and others. I'll take you up on your invitations to come ski. I just got to get off my lazy butt and do it. So I'll email more about dates when the resorts get open. Keep me up to date on the snow conditions. Thanks for the support.
never had a parking ticket nor been depressed and the girlfriend is working out well, but I have to go study and that just plain sucks. That and I gotta figure out a way to get my ass out of bed to beat Xover to first chair of the season at Alta.:DQuote:
