The problem with your thesis is that while dollar weakness makes the yen look strong, the main cost of flying, which is fuel, is priced in weakening dollars making me no more able to charter planes than when the yen was "weak". Your best airport (and I'm impressed that you're considering coming all the way from Japan!!) is the one where a mag has offered you a ride. This could be LA, SF, or Reno - home of many mags, each. So, start a new thread asking if someone could give you a ride from any of those cities, and that will decide your airport.
Hmmmm. I would go to Reno but there is no direct flight and Splat's jeep smells bad anyway. I may try LA as that has the most choice on flights from Tokyo.
