You know what else is 'core? Making fun of people who aren't as core as yourself. That right there is the epitome of 'core.Quote:
To his credit however he did have duct tape covering a hole in his camo pants, and duct tape = Core.
How about all the people who thought the snow was great this weekend in Tahoe? (It wasn't)
 You were riding a chair lift at Breckenridge - so "here" would mean Breckenridge.
I guess it's a regional thing. I'm from Twisp, not Winthrop which is 8 miles North.
I live in Anaheim, not LA. When in any other city in the area, including LA, if someone asks me if I live "here" - I say, "No, I live in Anaheim"
So yes, I'd be the gaper who would think- "so you don't live here" although I would say "oh", .......but I'd think it.
^^Do you have a funny quote, or are you going to fight with Chad about the semantics of "here" all day?^^
We need to make a sticker for the maggots to put on their skis.
Something like:
Q: "What are those?"
A: "These are skis....stop asking me about them."
If I hear, "What are those...waterskis?!" one more fucking time I am gonna punch someone....
Other day I saw MONOMAN in a fartbag. Seeing him ski,wow,:nonono2:
Are those water skis Phish?
Sorry couldn't resist mang.
What I love are the gaper locals. The ones that have been in town for a couple months and think they're the shit.
They ask "Where ya from."
You say "I live in Denver."
They say something like "Oh sorry.."
The fact that you have skied ever line on the mountain means nothing or the fact that you've skied every mountain in the range that the ski area is in means nothing either.
But they are local ;)
I like it when gapers still use the words "fat-boys" and "parabolics" when describing skis, as if they were some weird new innovation! And no these are not my powder skis. I ski these every day... even on hardpack!
Says the man from Albaquerque
yesterday I saw a dude skiing below the chair in a #12 Patriots jersey and I yelled "GO PATS!" really loud.
I must be a gaper:frown:
I can't believe Brady was out pow hunting before the game yesterday...core!
Riding the chair with a copuple of german tourists on a big day:
1st one, really exhausted, breathing hard:
"Oh my god, i hate that powder, once you're trapped in there it takes ages to get back on the piste......."
2nd one, totally covered with snow:
"Yeah, we really picked the wrong week for our holidays, you can't even enjoy your run, always have to watch out for that nasty powder patches..."
They look at us, we're also covered with snow:
1st:
"Having trouble with the snowmasses as well, eh?!"
reply:
"Yes, no matter what we do, we end up in the powder the whole season" :p
chairride over and out
You apparently didn't read the second sentence in that post. Or maybe I was unclear. I wouldn't hold it against anyone for saying that to me. Albuquerque is definitely a sub-optimal place to live if you ski.
AFAIK, it goes like this: Hell>Detroit>Texas>Albuquerque>Denver>Happiness
Somebody needs to learn what the "greater than" and "less than" signs mean.
Hmm, yes, I didn't mean to use this ">" with the meaning of greater than. Simply meant to use it as an arrow. As in, hell, then texas (which is perhaps questionable as bite me notes) then the rest. I don't know where the rest of the midwest goes in there...never lived there.
You could use this -> next time. People can get confused. Very entertaining for a monday.
Now i know why dead setlists always look so dumb on the internetz.
Oh shit! Now you've done it! Cue gonehuckin, TyWebb to entirely miss the point, and Steven S. Dallas less so... ;)
Duh! Shit that is TOTALLY obvious! Pull your head out of your ass! All you'd have to do is look at Bill H.'s first post to see how clearly that was laid out!
Apparently you (Nick Papagiorgio) don't know the first rule of TGR: If you are going to respond to someone's post it is your responsibility to look at and completely read all posts they have posted previously. Then (this is still rule 1) you have to search the entire forum to make sure there was not name change. If you don't find any info regarding this on the current TGR forum it is YOUR responsibility to repeat this process on Big Lines, New Schoolers, Alpine Zone, etc.
This post makes me smile even more because I know I'm on Bill H.'s ignore list :FIREdevil.
okbye
EDIT: I forgot my contribution:
On the lift I heard a flat lander tell another that he bangs chicks all the time in ski towns. The trick is tell them you're someone famous. He always claimed to be Skogen McConkey.
