When Mitchell takes a shit, he poops Chuck Norris.
Benny is googling ...
There are no doubt a SHIT TON of players out there who are having a very nice evening while scratching their head wondering how they didn't end up in this report.
As for Clemens (and Pettitte), he still can deny it, given that there is no paper trail evidence whatsoever, and it is only the first hand account of one person, albiet a very strong account. I think it's pretty obvious that he's guilty. It will be very interesting to see how he reacts. Pettitte is the one name that bothers me, as a hard core Yankee fan. He was always one of my favorites.
I was going to google "Chuck Norris Shit" but I figured that stone was better left unturned.
top of the list in Google:http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...2005Mar17.html
right in the middle of our "war".
fucking pathetic.
Um, that was over two years ago, and has nothing to do with the Mitchell report (to which you were clearly referring all along).
Not arguing that it wasn't a waste of Congress' time back then, but it's not the same thing as the Mitchell report.
jeez, you really don't get how things work in this case, do you? Do you think this little "investigation" just fell from the sky, sponsored by the tremendous good will of all parties involved?
It was a direct result of those "hearings". With anti trust repeal held as blackmail.
I heard that Mitchell will be investigating x-mass and talking to elves next.

You're right. You win. Can't wait to boo the guy when he shows up in the commisioner's box soon. He'll really fix things up in that position. What a bunch of shit.
edit - nevermind ruler got it
clemens can't do shit to mitchell
When I was a kid, I remember the whole Pete Rose thing. I remember being disappointed when I got his baseball card. But he wouldn't admit it.
He always denied. Always.
And five years passed, and then 10 and then 20 years passed.
People forgot why they were pissed. They talked about getting him into the hall, about how he probably didn't bet on baseball. That the dowd report was false. They created websites and petitions, talked about how he was getting screwed over.
In the end though, he owned up to it. Owned up to betting on his own team and other baseball games.
So, he was still a no good lying gambler. Regardless about lying for so long.
I was wondering why there wasn't more statements or press conferences by players who were outed denying the allegations. If I was an innocent player, I'd be doing a presser asap to respond or deny any of Mitchell's findings. Must be some guilty players out there.
And Benny Santiago? Man, I always liked him. That one kinda stung a bit...
You're right. People will forget and/or defend him regardless. Still I think that gambling as a manager after your playing days are done isn't the same as taking steroids to make yourself a better player or to be able to extend your career. Say with out steroids Clemens only plays till he's 35/36, doesn't get 3000 K's, doesn't win 300 games, doesn't win 4 more Cy Young's...etc. I think it's complete bush league on his part. He needs to just own up to it and admit he fucked up. People will still forgive him and people will still want him in the hall.
No, I agree. I was just offering a point. Clemens "financially and legacy wise" will have to defend himself on the basis of protecting his legacy.
The thing is that most people don't care how they got 45 hr's on their team, just as long as they get 45 hrs.
I'm suprised Brady Anderson isn't on that list.
^^^Or Chipper...
Yeah, but all that means is he didn't get juice from one of the guys interviewed, never did it openly in the locker room, and never talked about it with his teammates or trainers. There's plenty of ways to get this stuff; no question this list is not exhaustive. There's a bunch of guys I was sure would be on this list who aren't.
Anderson's non-inclusion will really bolster his HOF credentials- this is a huge boon* for him, as he's up for election this year.
*Bret?
I haven't read the previous 5 pages of comments, and its probably been said already, but this report is by no means an all-inclusive list. The players named were the ones either called out by the Mets clubhouse guy Radomski, busted buying stuff on the internet, or included in the BALCO case. If you look at the names, a majority of them are east coast guys- ones who could contact Radomski. I'm sure there are several times as many guys actually using HGH or steroids.
Sure its damning evidence if your name is on there, but they can't suspend these guys because a clubhouse worker tattled on them.
No love for Greg Vaughn?
Honestly..... Rich Garces? Why did he take steroids???
"HOUSTON -- Roger Clemens vehemently denies allegations in the Mitchell report that he used performance-enhancing steroids, and is outraged that his name is included in the report based on the uncorroborated allegations of a troubled man threatened with federal criminal prosecution. "
Looks like Clemens isn't going down without a fight......
It's just a mother fucking game. who really gives a shit if players juice themselves up-----you do what you gotta do and what everyone else your competing against is doing. If these dumbfucks want to ruin their future for a moments glory fine. What's the diff between a passion to be the bewt and cheating. Shit, this country is going to hell in a handbasket, people are losing their homes, there's an endless war over in Iraq, we're headed towards a recession, and their is no fucking snow.
IT'S JUST A FUCKING GAME!!!
Of course it's just a game, but it's a game with about 100 years of history that has become the American pastime, and has a HUGE influence on the youth of America, who you apparently feel should continue to recieve the message that it's alright to destroy your body with drugs to achieve an athletic goal. Nice. Just because this is being discussed doesn't mean that we all ignore the problems in the world, or rank this problem above them. Thanks for your worthless post.
edit- you COULD have gone at this from a different angle, and said how it seems a bit odd that congress was taking time to investigate a sport (a while ago), while more pertinent issues went un-dealt with. that I might actually be able to agree with.
You seem to miss the whole point of my message. "It's just a game" and if people wish to cheat and ruin their future health go at it. People who spend their time accumulating weath over health will spend all that wealth to get healthy. How many millions do you think have been spent investigating Bonds and MLB. Bucho! Your welcome on my worthless post, because it's just another post and I apologize it upset you. PINHEAD!!!
The fans don't care. Record attendance this year. Personally I miss the stolen base and hitting for average like Rod Carew but that's another story..
OK - for the last motherfucking time - this is a report commissioned by BASEBALL, not CONGRESS.
No! Not Nook Logan!?!
Say it ain't so Nook, say it ain't so.:nonono2:
Wow..... If you read my post, I CLEARLY got your message, which is retarded. YOU'RE the one who doesn't get MY point, appparently, which is that the youth of america is getting the message that it's ok to cheat and destroy your body to do so.
No shit. I was referring to a WHILE AGO, when congress called the players and others in to question them.
what a waste of fucking money-except for a few new names that came out via questionable evidence, what new info did they uncover?
I was listening to sports radio yesterday and they were already singing the praises of players that weren't on the list-"they did it the right way"-if anybody actually thinks the only players using anything were on this list...
How the fuck are people surprised by this stuff? The people named in the report represent about 5% of the players who actually juiced. There isn't a single player in baseball you can say definitely DID NOT take steroids (except Casey The Blade).
Didn't the report just say that he took HGH when recovering from an injury in 2003? I think he actually doesn't come off looking too bad.
You shouldn't be mad at the list, but at the idiot Sports Reporters. The list is what it is - a defensible account of people known to have juiced. Eye witness testimony is enough to fry a person on the electric chair, so suing the Mitchell Report (Clemens :nonono2: ) is stupid.
He should have retired years ago anyway.
