As for the rest of the PC, he said she said bullshit.
It just proves again what a racially divided society we live in.
All the PC crap like this just continues to focus on how (Different) people of different races and religions really are.
Or that is the perception of those who continuously point these things out.
I think those who call people out on perceived racist remarks are the most racist group of all.
FWIW, I don't think society, as a whole, is that divided. There is just a very loud minority of opportunists that we are cao taoing to. If we ever grow a spine and tell them to stuff it, I think most of this "division" will disappear.Quote:

Jay Severin has been doing a terrific job of defending Don Imus. When Jay's right, he's right. And few can speak as eloquently. There's only one point regarding the Imus controversy that we haven't heard from Severin (or anyone else). It is this:
Yes, serial insulter/joker Don Imus made a terrible mistake last Wednesday when he jokingly insulted several upstanding young college students. But a vital question is not being asked: WHAT made his choice of words a mistake?
Was it because they called into question Imus's goodness as a human being? Perhaps some people would say yes. But his many charity works speak far louder.
Was it because people will think he wasn't joking? Some people might say yes, but his long history of equal-opportunity insulting speaks far louder.
No, the real reason it was a mistake for Imus to utter those words is because the U.S. is tragically stuck in a racial rut. The truth is, Imus mistakenly assumed that America had perhaps finally progressed to the point where someone like him could include blacks in his viciously sarcastic schtick. Prior to last Wednesday, Imus had walked on political eggshells along with most other Americans. But last Wednesday, after so many years of PC phoniness, Imus finally broke free of his political chains and spontaneously treated blacks the same as he treats everyone else. This was Imus's mistake: he took a chance that a racially matured America could maybe finally handle Chris Rock-style humor from a white guy, but it turns out that America hasn't grown so much. And what a terrible shame. Last Wednesday could have been a momentus day for MLK's dream of a colorblind America. But alas it wasn't to be.
Nevertheless, Imus will always be a hero to those of us who still hang onto that dream. For a fleeting moment at least, Imus apparently - and perhaps career-endingly - believed he had glimpsed the mountain top. But what he really glimpsed was Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton standing at the ready to stomp his fingers as he reached for the summit. White folk, evidently, need not apply up there.
Imus never wanted to be liked. His job was to get a rise out of people, and he sure as hell did it here.
Politicians may have hated him but they all lined up to be on his show no matter what abuse he was going to give them.

There is a difference between someone who is a racist, bigot, etc…., and someone who isn’t PC. I don’t believe he meant to say “I hate nappy haired nigger hoes” (as implied by the media). I think he has a stereotype for African women with tattoos, and when he said it, had no idea how his stereotype would be portrayed, and the reason he shouldn’t have been pulled.Quote:
