Does the slab not fully cover the body anymore? That would be my biggest fear. Crawlspaces are much better for that.

This kind of shit is why I am going to be a totally anal retentive pain in the contractor's ass when we build this addition we're planning. I will be checking the foundation layouts, the framing, the rough ins - EVERYTHING. I don't want the new floor to be off the exisiting by 1/2 inch (or 1/8, for that matter) because someone didn't frame it right or set up the foundation forms wrong. I'm paying a shitload of money for this and mistakes are really going to piss me off.

I'm still trying to figure this out. So the garage was already there. so you just ripped out the old slab and wanted to pour a new one. So if the grage was already there why does the drawings say "4 feet extra"

Was the garage lifted from it's only foundation and then reposition, hence the extra 4 feet?
