Here’s a Taos story for you:
Skied Taos back decades ago with college buddies. Powder day, 18” or something, midweek. Buddy says “Let’s do a ticket shuttle and get 4 of is up for the price of two” as they never checked tickets on upper lifts. “No, we got the cash and besides we want to be able to ski Werners chute and Longhorn to the bottom without hassle”. After a few runs off High T, Werner/Longhorn opens. Faceshots and hootin down and we are at the base getting on the lift, and lifty stops me, where’s your ticket? Look down, just the wicket. wtf. I go to ticket office. “You bought with cash and no receipt? Too bad.” I go to the head office. “Sorry Nukey, we’ve been burned by that scam too many times”
So I had to actually scam/ticket shuttle just to get back on the mt when I had actually paid!!!
