Depreciation on those things is BRUTAL.
Hey, it's just the marketplace driving the price down.

Memo to all Marines:
Please point your plane downwards before punching out.
Thanks,

So, they still haven't found it? I'm thinking it was hacked by the Chinese who took it over and attached to one of their weather balloons. It's probably somewhere over the Atlantic on it's way to China by now.
Heh. Best thread ik weeks.
I'll chime in: in a few years we will get " F-35 bear, based on a true story".
I'd bet even titanium is no match for a hungry black bear. Pilot leaves a bag of chips under his seat and....
On the plus side, now we don't have to keep arguing with all those morons who said it wouldn't get off the treadmill.
That's cause this one takes off vertically fool.
Yeah; the reports I've heard state that the transponder wasn't signaling before it hit the ground, maybe even before pilot ejected.
Thanks for reminding me I want to incorporate “fool” into my conversations more. I can’t wait to hear why the pilot ejected. The military keeps saying he had a “mishap” like nobody’s gonna ask what that means. Did he spill coffee in his lap and accidentally pull the eject handle? Fishing around between his legs for a dropped phone maybe?
RE: the transponder, it can be turned off. On any airplane. Technically, you don't even need one (or a radio) if you don't fly into controlled airspace.
News reports (so grain of salt) claim that it was unserviceable prior to the flight.
To paraphrase Strangelove, the whole point of a stealth aircraft is lost if it's trackable.
Golf clap…..
