Dunno about versions, but I had 178 MX88s (prolly 2016 version; I’m about 6’1”, 170 lbs) and they were fantastic frontside skis. Rock solid but easy to release. They felt a touch short for me - maybe a 181-182 would have been a better size if it were available, but in the end I semi-regret passing the 178s to a friend.Quote:

Not positive but I think the MX88 stayed the same under the hood until the MX89 replaced it. It was the flagship of the brand.
anyone found a good replacement for their BMX105HP?
my favorite daily driver is getting a bit long in the tooth.
tried the FX106Ti and just wasn't feeling it.
Stance 102, Corvus, Sender Free and K108 all seem like they could fit the bill
I believe the Heritage Lab FL105 may have partly been inspired by the BMX105HP shape.

I had been lusting over FX 106 Ti and finally pulled the trigger. These will replace the BMX 105 HP which are a fabulous ski, and still in great shape if anyone is interested. Initial out of the wrapper feel is a lighter feeling lay-up. Fairly stiff underfoot and tail with a softer tip. Not really any tip rocker even when de-cambered. Mount point seems right on and matches up exactly with the M102 191cm rearward mark. Bases seem a little dry and will need some wax. One thing I did notice is they no longer sport the made in Austria/wings symbol, but now say "Austrian Technology". A little google search showed that Kastle, maybe only some models?? are now being made in the Czech Republic, not that it matters. Just a little surprised. Can't wait to give these ago after reading some reviews.

fx106ti def rails harder than an enforcer 100. It’s a badass fuckin ski. I’d put edge grip and suspension on par with the first gen mantra 102. It’s more punishing backseat though too.Quote:

Had my first outing on my FX 106 Ti's. I wish I could say they were magic skis on day 1, but that was not the case. I didn't do anything after mounting, but I did have a stone in my pocket for tip and tail detuning work as needed. First run was like holy shit are these grabby. Some tip and tail detuning twice during the outing helped some, but the skis still wanted to take me for a ride, which is pretty scary when your not in control.
I've owned a lot of skis and have only ever had a bad factory tune once. I have the older Stormrider 95, green/black/white graphic that was base high and had the same feeling that I was going to break a leg or bust a knee skiing them. Those I had ground and then set to a 1 and 2 degree edge which was the ticket. Probably do the same with these as I don't want to fuk them up.
Anyway, end of blog! Looking forward to better days on these.

I had a shit factory tune on new planks once and making it down the hill freaked me out a little. Impossible to turn, super squirrelly, had to put everything I had on the shovel to get home safe.
My FX106’s seem fine but they were used demos so probably tuned at some point.

I’m starting to really love these 192 fx106. I brought my Enforcer 100’s with me and planned to swap skis to compare them so I could then decide if I want to sell or not. I was having too much fun and never took the Kastle’s off. I’ll be putting the Enforcer’s up for sale, can’t justify having a 100 and a 106.
I have this ski and I love it. I'm mounted on the "old man's" line and it feels pretty good. Skiing the 184 and I'm 5'11". The genZ line looks to be at least 2 to 3cm forward of that (from memory and not actually looking at my skis). If you went +1 of that line, seems like it would put you close to the midline of the ski and I'm not sure this ski is built for that (huge guess here). It's not super rockered - subtle rise in front and a bit in back.Quote:

I’m looking at mounting a pair, recommended line is -14?! So I’m thinking of mounting at +2.
