SV and Pio for the win.
For close to Heavenly you have Friday's Station in Harrahs, which should be excellent. Stateline Brewery just on weekends and Holidays, haven't had it. Riva Grill, weekends and holidays. Had a lot of it, can't say it was anything special but it was prime rib with horseradish and I always liked it. These are all within 1.5 miles.
Ciera Chophouse (Bally's) and The Bistro at Edgewood are also very close and will both have the Tomahawk Ribeye and are both excellent (better than Riva or Stateline Brewery). If you're totally set on the Prime Rib I'd go with Friday's Station. If you want the best rendition of the Ribeye cut I'd go with the Wagyu Tomahawk at Ciera (best steakhouse also). If you want Prime Rib and a happening bar then Stateline Brewery or Riva Grille would be your bet.
Agreed. RIP The Butcher Shop
I assume Steak Pit is still at Snowbird? been quite a while since I went downstairs below the tram.
Can't get closer steak & skiing than that!
I used to order Sirloin, so not sure about their prime rib. /flippin prime rib is so hit or miss sometimes anyway> easy to get it to raw, and need to eat it fast unless you like cold meat
Who eats rice with prime rib? That really bugs me for some reason. Is that the new light option for a baked potato?
I am one of those vegan vegetarian fools, so I am all about the juiciest tofu steak nearest the hill…
That said, really surprised nobody has mentioned The Chart House on Kingsbury Grade in SLT, which is spitting distance (less than 3 miles) from the backside (Boulder Lot) of Heavenly.
They have several different sizes of PR:

And The Lone Eagle Grille in Incline Village is just down the slope from Diamond Peak…approximately 2 miles from the base.

Jake’s on the Lake in Tahoe City has PR, but it’s 6.6 miles away from Alpine Meadows…
the Jay Country Store used to do dollar-an-ounce prime rib on Friday and Saturday nights, 12/14/16 oz mongo slabs + potatoes and veggies for under $20. basically a gas station/general store with a little kitchen in back, right down the road from some of the best skiing in the east and down the street from our house. we got to know the chefs over the years and it was the go-to spot; we had a little deal going with them that if we were going to be rolling in with a big crew we'd call them by 8am the day of and they'd hit the local butcher shop to stock up on extra beef for us.
Thanks for the input everyone.
The best Prime Rib dinner I ever had was after a climbing trip to the Moose's Tooth in Alaska at Simon and Seaford's in Anchorage. But, the closets ski area is farther then 5 miles away.
Made it to the Pioneer in Ketchum last weekend for the Ski and Trauma conference. Great bar style Prime Rib and tasty local beer(s) Bad color on the photo. ( bar li[ATTACH=CONFIG]432972
