I've held them/played with them, but haven't worn them.
Impressively light for how burly all the parts felt. Didn't feel flimsy or plastic-y like some other boots in that category feel. The Technica/industry folks who were "testing" them had really good things to say about their touring that day. I don't really tour for the distances and vertical this boot would be useful for, but having sold a lot of boots in this category I can tell that this boot is going to be a winner.
Anyone speak (understand) German 😂? In the little bit that's written they call the flex "approx 130" which is pretty surprising..

Look, there is no way they are a 130, okay? This reminds me of the Dalbello Quantum thread from last year. I think people get excited when their favorite beef boot mf'er makes a light boot, but it's just materials, and if one characteristic is set (weight) then there's only so much that can be done elsewhere (downhill performance).
The other thing that can be modified is fit, so IMO if this skis as well as leading 1 KG boots like the F1 LT but fits a different population, it's a win.

It’s a rescaling. Cochise Pros are now a 197.5 flex.
Edit: also read somewhere that there’s a big difference in flex between the carbon and non-carbon models, I imagine by (marketing) design. it probably won’t be like the difference between Vulcan/Mercury where carbon adds a little lateral stiffness and a lot of bling factor.

Couldn't agree more. As much as I'd love to ski them, I will never fit an F1 LT (or Alien RS) because the lower can't be punched enough (very much) for my wide feet.Quote:

We literally just got the next round of samples last week or the week before. This round does include the stiffer carbon version as well as the non carbon. Again only in 26.5 and still not very many of them.
There were some tweaks to the protos based on feedback, which was the goal with that round of prototypes. It’s why they were sent out.
Will these ski like your 130 flex inbounds boots? Hell no! Will they be stiffer and more responsive than other boots in this category, most likely yes. They also can be punched, although not as much as a standard grilamid or pu plastic. I don’t remember the amount you can stretch them, I’ll look that up.
I personally haven’t received any feedback on the most recent samples. I would say the overall sentiment on the first round of protos was how well they skied even on skis over 100mm under foot.
A boot can have a very stiff flex laterally without having it forward ;)
I bet these will be an upgrade to my Alien RS and a complement to my ZGTPs.
I totally understand, but the issue is for those of us who drive skis from the front, or skis that respond to being driven that way, even lighter skinnier ones. That’s the reason why F1s and Backlands were a failure for me and I’ve stuck with TLT6s as long as I have (pleaseletsnotrehashhowtheTLT6skis)Quote:

Agreed on Skorpius cuff. F1 LT cuff is about the same height as well (slightly lower in the front and higher in the back than the Skorp). New Backland still has a very low cuff, not quite as bad as the old one though.Quote:

MTN Summit: Still weird with the heel hold, feels like it's "lower" or closer to the bottom of the foot then all the other boots I have tried, roomy instep and extremely roomy width wise in the forefoot. Peak Carbon: Very tight on my feet length-wise, but good heel hold, and overall fit is very similar to my ZGPT except length and I will need to punch these in order to make it work. Not as smooth to get into walk-mode as the others due to the wires (same style as ZGTP). Very good liner, feels better and more dense than the stock ZGPT liner. Very nice flex (indoors at least), progressive but stiff enough.
Sorry for the bare minimun of information at the moment. Will circle back after I have done my 7000 feet of walking on all boots with some more in-depth info.
Thanks for the comparison, Kreemcheese, this is much more valuable than beta from someone who only has one boot and thinks it's God's Gift. Sounds like the first batch of production Zero G Peaks has just arrived in North America, so we'll see how they compare.
