We still have an MKVI Golf R my wife took over from me. It's a full on tank in snow until you bottom it out. 120k and not an issue yet.

In high school I had a Mustard yellow ‘78 Volvo 240 with brown corduroy seats, bald tires and a jerry rigged exhaust that had more holes than a flute.
I was drifting before drifting was cool, but mostly on wet days and not always intentionally.
Honorable mention to an 83 320i and an 84 Saab 900 turbo that came and went through the family at one point or another.

Never owned a little car…but when I worked at A Jaguar/Land Rover dealer, we’d get some awesome little cars in on trade that i’d get to do the used car inspections on. Having owned g-body cutlasses and regals, an Astro van, a series 1 discovery and a jeep cherokee up to that point, those cars were a different world and so fun. Couple of fun country roads near the dealership to rip around on and the interstate was close too. Some of my sampling’s:
A couple Porsche boxsters (super fun and affordable)
A Mini Cooper s (holy shit what surprise)
The bmw clown shoe (tiny Viper)
95 Supra (hell yea)
92 300zx twin turbo (amazing)
93 NSX (thought I was gonna get fired for those “test” drives) put close to 200 miles on that thing lol

My kid just sold his 2012 Golf R MKVI with 115K on it for ~$16K, used car market is insane right now. He took the seats out and installed a roll bar and lowered non-reclining racing seats with 5 point harnesses, so it was not a comfortable car for road tripping, but it was dangerously fast. He rope-a-doped me on the Golf (I didn't realize it was an R) after I refused to help him get a WRX STI because of the insurance he needed for it.Quote:
