Would love to get a slalom or GS race out here. Lake Louise downhill is this weekend and the wimmin in 2weeks beyond. Downhill is impressive, but hard to find a good spot for more than a glimpse of the racers. Love watching slalom and GS skiers carve those perfect train tracks.
Had a ski vacation at Killington March break in about 1978.best snow I had ever seen until that age. Big powder dump mid-week. We spent a lot of time on Superstar and Skylark, but back in the 70’s they were teeny skinny runs. I guess not so much any more.
Have a blast this weekend.
Fun fact, a few years ago they added a bunch of vertical to the top of Canada Olympic Park here at the edge of Calgary. C.OP. Has hosted many ski jumps cups, mogul world cups and aerial world cups. They wanted to be able to host a World Cup Slalom, so added a few hundred feet of vertical to accommodate.
I think a WC slalom in the city would be cool...
