Some good friends who've spent time with her ("off" time, I think you'd say) describe her as a gracious and welcoming person, certainly much warmer than her public persona. I'll spare the now second hand accounts, but knowing there's an actual human under all that kinda paints a different picture. It is nice to see it's not just Americans that go in for personal attacks, though. Or maybe we're just both in decline.
