It really seems that way.
I also saw a pretty big avy off Zuma cornice in A-Basin (looking at the webcam). The wind has really done a number on most above treeline terrain in the ten mile and along the divide.

I think you just described CO weather in general. It's pretty much all extremes where a few big storms during the season could make all the difference between having an above normal or below normal snowpack for the year...continental vs. maritime snowpack. I think the only weather in CO that is semi-consistent is the summer monsoons.
Another 3-5 days of mild temps and sun here in MT. Mountain biking on tap for tomorrow.
