Best way to get rid of ants inside the house?

We were invaded by tiny fuckers. I did everything I could and failed miserably until I picked up the phone and called a pro. Took three visits by them over 2 months. My house is on an ant hill, so all we can do to keep them out and not in is throw $$ at it as preventative maintenance.

To be clear, we went through a whole summer where we had at least two of those Terro traps out at all times and they never stopped coming

Same with us last year. I am certain I live on top of the biggest ant colony on the island.
