Great day. I woke up way to early to the screams of my 8 year old daughter. I fly out of bed to see what is wrong and she is jumping up & down on her bed because it was snowing HARD outside. - Then she started to cry when I told her we couldn't ski today. She already had her ski boots on. :D

Drove over the pass and dodged all the tourists trying to escape the snow, wreaks all over but my studded snow tires & 4x4 made it feel like I was driving on 80 Degree pavement instead of the ice I was on.

Snow advisory out and it's supposed to keep up for a few days. Life is good.

Despite coming down with a horrible cold (I'm right between the sore throat stage and the runny nose stage), I had a pretty cool weekend. I finally got around to installing the car alarm I had bought my wife for Chrismas (better late than never, right?). It took a bit longer than I expected, and I was amazed by how many wires there are in a modern car, but I think I've got it mostly working (she really only wanted the keyless entry part of the alarm).

Saturday night, I went to see Soul Purpose with a bunch of people from the Mammoth Forum, as well as some Maggots. Then after the show we went to go get some hot dogs from Pinks, and while we were waiting in line it started to rain!! Looks like Mammoth got about a foot, and it's still falling!! They've been known to open early.... (PLEASE! PLEASE! PLEEEEEEEAAAAAASSSSSEEE!!!!!!!)

I am soo giddy, postin' up at the alta library, lookin' at the couple inches of FRESH on the ground!!!

YES! YES!

I pulled the first doughnuts of the season in the goldminers lot!

Stoked to be 21 on sat. Hung out with a great guy last night, not so lonely or grumpy any more.

Let's see. Installed a new brakeline on my hartail Friday night. Kicked some ass at the dirt jumps Saturday, tossing a couple no footers, missing the pedals on a couple no footers and subsequently crushing the boys. Was boosting higher than I've ever gone on a big double and having a damn good time until this happened.

Went and hung out with the Maggots (always a good time) and took in Soul Purpose and then was lazy and happy on Sunday doing nothing but listen to the rain and look for a new frame. Back at work and in a good mood despite a busted down bike and grey skies.

Had a nice drive thru the snowy Sardine canyon this am.

Neck deep in emails.

I have a four day weekend coming to a close

I worked on the house all day on Friday, made a fantastic Mexican diner for some friends Friday night. Every thing was home made (refried beans, tortillas, slow cooked pork, rice!)

Drank 7 beers, 4 double Red Bull and Vodkas and a half a bottle of wine. Stayed up till 3:30 cleaning up after diner.

Wife wakes me up at 8:00 :mad: so tired, parched, and prolly hung-over that I'm blind. she "suggests" we go downtown to check out the artisan fair :rolleyes: "but I cant see"

Come home and fight temptation to use "hair of the dog" to get me through the rest of the day... manage to not drink untill I open a 94' Cab Sauv BV that I was saving for some fat ass steaks. BBQ stakes :)

Sunday watch my Chargers mis manage the clock and lose to ATL, but I kick ass in fantasy football thanks to M Vick :(

Today I just dropped off the kids at the sitter and I have a shit load of chores. Safety first, then off to play with electricity while installing a ceiling fan, ( has any one installed a ceiling fan?) also hangin the bikes in the Garage on new hangers. more chores. could be an interesting day.

Brain hurts from reading too much technical jibber-jabber this morning.

Liver hurts from too much homecoming/tailgating/drinking my sorrows away while the Terps got beat this weekend.

Everything else hurts from too much bouldering yesterday, to try and make up for hurting my liver so much the previous two days.

In summary, I hurt.

It's a Monday....way too much to do, no one is returning phonecalls, etc...

The upside is that we got snow in Calgary, which means more snow in the mountains! :D The season is starting.

Full contact parenting mode is still in full effect.

In the course of doing battle with yet another set of lunchmeat pants, the kicker fouled and was penalized 1 nursing. The halfback still revels in wobbling about on the sidelines, testing the viability of her newfound walking skills. With field goals to the garbage can of the stinky white bundles for both defensive members of the team, the game was looking bright.

Back in the huddle laying out the gameplan for the day, the quarterback radioed to the backfield coaches who offered to substitute for the evening shift.

Wooo-Hooooo!

Not having had a moment off for the last 13 months, the quarterback was stoked to say the least.

So at the 20 yards line with 2 down and the offensive line sated by naps, nursing and nosches, the quarterback and I went out to dinner for the first time in 3+ months.

And I scored.

I'm doing super. Friday night I went to see my little brother give his last speech for a retreat he lead with his fellow classmates. He killed it, I'm really proud of the person he's become and I think that leading that group gave him the confidence that he'll do anything he sets his mind to.

I jetted from there to State for homecoming to get sauced with the ski team coeds for the weekend. While we busied ourselves with booze, I was stoked to hear that they are all happy with their lives and moving forward despite difficulty finding jobs in their field. It's nice to know I'm not alone in my struggles.

Friday night's consumption was epic for a bunch of ski team alum, but far below par for past days of infamy. Note to self - Stop attempting to drink like you did in college. :rolleyes:

The best part? A lady acquaintance of mine wants to get more acquainted, and I'm all for it. She is the sweetest girl I've ever known, she's smart, a skier, and smmmmmoking.

To ice the cake, Alta's opening day is a month away and I can't wait to get back and get 'r done!

You should have seen some of the parties the Wastern and State ski teams threw on race weekends. Legendary in their absolute fucked-upedness, and admittedly, I was a part of a few too many. :rolleyes:

Hmmm...i won't lie, i feel like total crap today.

Puked all day yesterday. Was in bed all day, finally feeling a bit better here at work, may go home to rest more.

Listened to it rain and hail last night, while my stomach was in pain.

Stoked for the cold!!

Oh, got new poles and a sweet photo slut jacket this weekend.

thx for asking......all is well. spent the weekend in Truckee winter'izing the crib: quartered, hauled and stacked roughly 2 chords of wood...that was good, except the wasp nest that I "discovered" in one of the piles I was pulling wood from....wish i had video, i must have looked like a man who was on fire....Me "hmm, what's that buzzing sound? Oh, these look like good some pieces over here, let me just grab those - OUCH! Ohhh! Shit! OUCH!" - Cue me dropping the wood and running through the back yard swatting wasps off me w/my work gloves....got stung twice in the face....lovely...but wood is stacked, screens taken down, deck furnature moved under the house, all set for winter.

And, its gonna dump in Tahoe tonight - Wed...so that's is good! And, ordered the Spats last night - whoo hoo!

EDIT: except I found out this morning we lost a major account here at work that I handle...ummm, hmmm, might be tough to pay for those Spats now....but hey, it's snowing, so who cares, right?

Cut my grass while is snowed. No accumulation though just flurries. Got my first grouse with my new puppy last weekend. She is definitely a hunting dog after that. She couldn't get enough of the grouse. The best part is it is only one more week until my vacation. :D

Very good, made it to reno driving in a little bit of snow on rt 431 with basically complete slick summer "race" tires. Snow tires go on the car tonight. First attempt to ski should be wednesday after the next storm :D , now off to class :mad:

Ah, Monday. Worked all day Sat pulling weeds and digging out overgrown garden stuff. It was a fundraiser for my son's school. I hate that kind of work, avoid it at home Ha. Got up an noon yesterday with a headache, not helped by watching the end of the Hawks/Patriots game so went back to bed til 7pm. Got the good news, will be playing music up at Baker again for a pass, hallelujah. This morning after my morning work shift dropped my car off at the shop to refix the AC and tweek the tuneup. You're supposed to get better gas mileage after a tune, not worse. Snow falling in them thar hills :D Got Immersion in the mail, must watch it again before I go back to get my car and the second half of my work day. Did I mention snow falling? The weather map looks fantastic, lots of weather headed this way :D
I'm hoping for a short window of clearing over the Cascades later so I can see some fresh snow while driving the bus to Lynden. Then it can close in again and resume dumpage. Not a bad day at all :D

Right now, shitty...sick, tired, not looking forward to work. But it's okay, cause I'm merely paying for my exuberence, luxury, and extraordinarly good weekend.

Friday night consisted of entertaing a lovely young gal until about 5 in the morning. Happened to be a childhood friends younger sister. It's gonna be ackward the next time I see him. Childhood friend, "Hey Cody, haven't seen you for ages, what ya been up too?" Me thinking, "Don't say doing your sister, don't say doing you sister."

Sat. - Because winter is starting, I gave my two weeks. And on that night I got a bottle of Opus One, 2001 as a tip. ($150 dollar bottle of Cabernet) And my boss as part of a going away party opened up a Williams Seylem 1997 Pinot Noir, (Argueabley the best bottle of Pinot Noir ever, noted by all major wine magazines) and finished off with a bottle of Clos du Val, 1979 Cabernet. (The single best glass of wine I and my boss have ever had, he is a sommelier.) So I drank over $1000 dollars worth of wine, hung out with my fellow workers and departed my work's bar at 5 am.

As I said before, I am now paying for the greatness of this weekend.
