On the cost front, I would argue with the exception of the lift tickets Jackson is cheaper than W/B having spend a week at both this past year as a touron. Lodging in the winter is really cheap in jackson and the condo's in W/B have been very steadily and rather rapidly increasing in price the last few years.
I would almost base the decision on time of year or who is organizing because they both rip. If you go later than early Feb, head to W/B. If in Jan or early Feb = Jackson.
Although the snow isn't as consistent as say LCC, there is always Targhee which is gets as good snow and both get skied out slower than W/B where within 45mins the peak is hammered.

You all can't seem to decide between 'Jackson Hole' and 'Whistler,' so allow me to propose another option: Hoth. Although it's a little cold, the snow is consistent. Just beware of the wampa ice creature!
