SOOOOOOO not happy about it....thanks for the props, but the break was pretty damn close to the frame aka I almost set myself up to ahve to buy a new frame instead of just a replacement hanger. My derailer was hanging like a limp you-know-what and I had to carry my bike the remaining portion of the ride. Good thing I was taking it into the shop this weekend anyway...

Well guys, it's cool to see someone is getting out and having fun.

My ass is unfortunatly planted in the office chair until 8 something these days, and my bike is gathering dust.

I'm going to have to write "do it for the pow" in big letters on my monitor.

Bike is still not fixed...am hoping that it willb e done by Wednesday, but if not looks like I am out. So bummed...:(

hummmm... the singlespeed would slow her down some.

on second thought she'd be cursing at the 1x1 so damn loud i'd start laughing my ass off and fall over, prob. bust my d-hanger in the process and be in a whole new heap of tha' dook.

wicked funny you two are......more than just teh hanger are broken. some freaking tension plate in the deraileur now too. they tried to get me to buy a whole new derailleur and if my bike were more than two months old I might think about it. so in the meantime I am making the rounds from bike shop to bike shop. if I can't find the part and have to order it, it may take up to 3 weeks! the thought of not riding for that long makes me ill.

call Supergo in the U district and ask if they have any shimano M750 (last year's) XT rear deraliurs in stock. should be $35ish maybe less if they have them. it will be a simple install for them, and i think you will end up paying less than ordering some random tension plate part and paying the labor for the shop to rebuild your deraileur.

you threw your bike hard enough to snap the hanger. the d-rail was the part that took the hit thus it's not a big shock that it broke too.

supergo has tons of stuff and lots of youngish dudes working there. cute bike girl + young shop guys = new d-rail for cheep ;)

p.s. and ya know ya can't wait for three weeks. you'll go mental just like i did.

Get your freakin' bike fixed for Wednesday. I'm having a hell of a day at work and I NEED this ride on Wednesday :eek:

3 weeks with no bike= hard core drinking problem to cope. The thought of missing the Tiger ride this week, and no playing this weekend is enough to make me want to drink, alot....I have nothing better to do!

or you could just get one of these
